Expedition to San Esteban National Park [ENG|SPA]
My greetings and respect to everyone in the Hive community. You don't know how happy I am because today I went on an expedition with @cristo-fade, and we lived an experience that very few times we have the opportunity to live.
Very early in the morning, we packed our backpacks and headed to one of the nearest towns, about 15 minutes away by motorcycle, because we went with the purpose of visiting San Esteban National Park. This town is a place loaded with a rich historical, economic, and cultural heritage, so we find iconic sites dating back to colonial times, such as houses, haciendas, and plazas. To be honest, just passing through its streets feels like traveling back in time.
We made a stop on the way to the town to buy two loaves of bread to give to the grandfather who has his farm next to the park entrance. Since he is a dear friend of ours, he and his dogs watch over our motorcycle while we venture into the jungle. After wishing us a happy expedition trip, the dogs accompanied us to the park entrance, where they took our personal information and asked us which zone or department of the mountain we were heading to. They gave us a couple of recommendations and wished us a happy trip.
Once we passed through the great arch of the entrance, we began a steady trot to get into the rhythm. But I won't lie to you — as soon as I started making physical effort, the air began to run out since it had been a long time since my last visit to that place. As we advanced, I couldn't resist the excitement and had to start documenting the spaces and places I encountered. To be honest, the lens of my phone camera does not do it justice.
However, I want to share with you this beautiful experience, full of deep conversations throughout the journey, where we marveled at the height of the treetops, the freshness of the environment, the smell of humidity, the sound of the streams, the singing of the cicadas echoing in the immense jungle, and the foliage of the bushes along the roadside. Lately, it has rained a lot in this area of the country, so it is normal that the springs we can find here are full to the brim with water.
But I can assure you that it is a place that is a pleasure to know, and just having the opportunity to live it and share it with you is magical. Quite beautiful, to be honest. The contrast between the colonial architecture of the town and the wild nature of the park makes this place truly unique and special.
I hope these beautiful images were completely to your liking. I greatly appreciate your attention and the time you took to read my publication. With nothing more to add, I say goodbye, and we will see each other soon. Until the next publication.
