Camping in the woods,
the fire burning bright,
then a whisper comes in the night,
I do what I could.

I eat my meal and put out the fire,
sleep is now what I desire,
the whispers are still there,
but only for me to bare.

They're telling me to come closer,
the trees twisted and gnarled,
come closer to use sir,
they say in their whisper snarl.

I lay in my tend, afraid to breath,
I just eaten, now they want to eat me,
the trees hunger seething,
I pray I don't need to pee.

I fall asleep finally in my tent,
dreams in my mind taking up rent,
then I awake, I need to pee,
the sights I behold, I scream.

The trees are closer than before,
In the dark they're just shadows evermore,
I now wish I bought a light from the store,
I see now my choice was poor.

They're coming for me now,
I wet myself with urine,
inching closer, nearly breaking their bow.
I see them closing in.

I zip up my tend awaiting the end,
covered in piss I whimper and sob,
their sharp mouths will make easy work,
regardless I now smell like a slob.

I hope it will be quick,
I hope it will be painless,
I wake up at the nick of dawn,
the trees where the were, motionless.

I survived the night,
but I'm so tired,
I'm going to a hotel after that fright,
the visage of anthro trees mired in my mind.
