Curator Cat Visits Communities: SlothBuzz and the SLOTHBUZZ Token
I got interested in the SlothBuzz project mostly after the original "Saturday Savers Club" shuttered, at the end of 2025.
I had good intentions of checking out the community because I had heard that there was going to be a "Slothly Savers" as a potential replacement or new version of Saturday Savers.
Perhaps I was slowed down a little bit by my own skepticism; specifically my scepticism towards Hive's second layer communities that sound promising and then end up basically disappearing into nothingness. Frankly, I'm tired of pouring a lot of time and effort into something only to have it vanish in the night!
Origins
Slothbuzz is not exactly new to Hive, having been around since September 2022. It has been around as a Hive-Engine token for a while, and I first came across the community quite a while ago... as a Hive-Engine "Outpost."
Subsequently, the stopped being a thing and was replaced by Slothbuzz "branded" version of Ecency... which — to be honest — felt like a step backwards, and led me to lose interest.
Now This...
Anyway, SlothBuzz popped back on my radar about a month ago because I found myself wondering how this second layer token — which was not new — was suddenly at parity with Hive (price wise), and then continued to climb fairly steadily.
So I had to find out whether there was anything more than speculation at work, there.
Which there definitely was!
Screen Shot from October 9th, 2026
The new [SlothBuzz.com](https://www.slothbuzz.com/feed) web site and Hive front-end is now a really nice and modern looking site, loaded with features that are both extensions of Hive, as well as (SlothBuzz) community specific.
This is definitely not your generic type of Hive-Engine Outpost... but looks like a built-from-scratch site.
While it is clearly labeled as being in Beta, I did not find it to be particularly "buggy" or difficult to use.
Quite Comprehensive!
As it has turned out, I definitely do not have the time and space here to do a walkthrough of the entire SlothBuzz ecosystem... but I was surprised to see that it is much more than just a basic Hive front end.
Main SlothBuzz landing page
As best I can tell, the SlothBuzz front end has been designed to seamlessly pull information from all Hive projects, meaning you have not only a blog feed, but also a short form feed, video feed, photo feed, short video feed and more.
In keeping with the sloth/jungle theme, communities are named "Bushes" here, and your "friends" page pulls and displays far more information than I have seen elsewhere.
Native Features
In addition, there are "native" features like SlothBuzz Radio, as well as what seems to be a "version" of the [Hive Engage](https://engage.hivechain.app/inbox) service which is very useful for keeping up with comments and such.
This post is written from the SlothBuzz front end, which I am just learning to use.
It's an interesting reminder that most of Hive is very "hands-on" as far as formatting and such goes, so I had to re-learn using a visual editor for Hive. And that's a pretty cool problem to have.
As I said, it is quite a comprehensive site... more so than I quick review can cover. So check it out for yourself!
