The buzz around Hive and Slothbuzz keeps growing! We've had another round of updates to our Slothbuzz.com website. We've added new features to our Engage section, fixed our short-form platform, and even added a few updates for our editors and tipbots! Not to mention making it even easier to use Slothbuzz.com on mobile with a new Keychain login directly in your mobile browser! No more relying on the Keychain app browser to view your favourite Slothbuzz.com content!
What is SlothBuzz.com?
Slothbuzz.com is your Hive home. A place for every Sloth to find their buzz on Hive! Whether you're a full-time writer, content creator, or you simply enjoy buzzing along with others as they share their content. There is something for everyone at Slothbuzz. Not only is Slothbuzz.com your 'full' Hive front end, but it's also your home for ALL Hive content! That's the beauty of decentralisation: other platforms can build on Hive, and we can all share the wealth of user-generated content on any frontend!
What's new at Slothbuzz?
We've had another round of updates to our main frontend, with the dev working his slothly magic and pushing us to the next level! From increasing the capabilities of our Engage area, allowing for quicker, more efficient engagement with users interacting with you on Hive. To small ease-of-use features like the ability to edit Hangs and comments around the different areas! I know this one comes in handy for me and my slothly fingers!
We've also made some background changes that users may not notice as much, such as how we upload and handle video content accross slothbuzz.com! We've also made more obvious changes, like allowing 1000 characters in our 'shortform' sections and adding SEO analysis directly in our post publisher/editor! We're always trying to bring new buzz to Hive and make things easier for the user!
Slothbuzz.com mobile compatibility increase!
You can now log in and use Slothbuzz.com directly from your normal mobile browser! So, whilst this isn't a 'full mobile app ', it's a step in the right direction for mobile users! You no longer need to rely on the Hive Keychain built-in browser to surf, create content, and engage with Hive! Simply use your mobile browser to go to Slothbuzz.com and click Login. Use the 'mobile log in' section and enter your Hive username. Click the button to open the confirmation in the Hive Keychain app, approve it, and you're all set! To make it even easier, you can set Keychain to auto-confirm transactions, allowing you to post/comment and vote seamlessly on mobile!
Want to make it even easier? You can install or create a shortcut to slothbuzz.com directly on your mobile home screen! Finally, your new Hive mobile app is ready! You can also link directly to 'hangs' or the 'radio' for quick access there, too! Keep your Sloth pet at your fingertips anytime!
SlothBuzz Pets, Radio and Shortform
SlothBuzz.com brings you your very own 'Sloth Pet'! Grab your first Sloth pet FREE from slothbuzz.com. Help your sloth buzz and grow by using the site, creating content, supporting other users with comments and likes, or simply giving your Sloth pet some love and affection (click them right in the face, because nothing says 'I love you' like a click to the face!). Your Sloth pet supports you on Hive and lets you take part in the Slothbuzz Radio mini-game! Hang from the tree of life, race to the bottom and steal the golden egg! A quick, fun mini-game whilst you're listening to SlothBuzz Radio. Don't forget, simply sharing a 'short' post with us via SlothBuzz Hangs enters your Sloth Pet into the race!
Slothbuzz.com tipbot + tools
Slothbuzz is more than a front end; it's your Hive go-to for everything you need! Right now, we have a small section of tools, analytics, and other features to make life easier on Hive! We're working on these to make it even easier to get the most from Hive!
One feature we have developed is the ability to create your very own tipbot on Hive! This allows you to decide how the bot operates, whether it leaves comments or daily posts to collect all the info in one 'low-spam' thread. Choose what tokens to tip, either your own Hive-engine token or maybe just Hive. Let anyone use it, or keep it locked down and use it like your own curation bot. Allow your community of curators to share a command to spread your curation efforts. The possibilities are endless, with new features constantly in the works!
Edits, editors and SEO!
Hive has long struggled with SEO, so we're bringing SEO help to slothbuzz.com! When you're finished crafting your post, you can add tags, a description, set your chosen image as the cover photo and quickly check the SEO basics to ensure your post is on track to buzz around the internet, not just Hive!
We've added the ability to edit posts/comments/hangs on more sections of the website too, so you don't need to worry about your slothly fingers mistyping; you can always come back and fix your errors!
We've also remembered your Tags! No longer do you need to remember your most-used tags; our editor gives you a helpful nudge toward the last tags you used! Make sure to have #slothbuzz on all your buzzing content!
Community building and growth!
SlothBuzz keeps you up to date on everything across Hive, from sharing posts from all communities, or 'bushes' as we like to call them! All the best content is hiding in the bush! You just need to climb the Slothbuzz tree to view it! We have our own Slothbuzz website, plus a Hive community and Tag (#slothbuzz).
