To me, unsolicited advice is a suggestion that is unwanted and can be annoying, although it can be helpful sometimes too.
Where I'm from, almost everyone is a "counselor" in your life's issues especially the elderly ones. When I was younger, I was "advised" to eat well cause I was slim, this for example is an unsolicited advice, it was totally uncalled for and unwanted, making me feel uncomfortable around my peers. When I got a boyfriend at age 19, I was advised to breakup with him because I was too young. Everybody and their opinion. Sighs... 🤦
It is okay to give advice but I believe your opinion should be asked first and whether it is asked or not, it should not be baised.
"I'm telling you, you need to stop giving your parents money, they have other children and you're the youngest, why are you stressing yourself" my friend's girlfriend said to him one day, that is the day their relationship ended. People's advice tells exactly who they are.
We have many of the (so called) "counselors" around today that seem to force their (unnecessary) advice on us. It is optional to heed to advice, there are certain things we shouldn't take from advises, like the negative parts.
