Me pregunto...
English Version
His reign consisted of tyranny. Everyone, absolutely everyone, was afraid of him because they had seen him make the cruelest decisions during his reign. Being a man, and believing himself to be a god, he did not respect anything around him, and the lives of others were despicable.
Could it be that the pharaohs in their entirety did this? Self-considered demigods, they tried to be the mediators between humans and all the known gods of that time. A god for everyone, a god for every occasion.
In those times, a very distant time for us, a man was erected with the sole purpose of totally changing the rules of worship that had governed that country for millennia. But how to do it?
Amenhotep IV, who by the years 1353 before Christ, had proposed to change those rules that were embedded in the psyche of his people, without considering their opinion.
Akhenaten, the name he decided to adopt to begin his religious revolution, began by destroying the temples of other gods, while preventing the cult from continuing; His vision of a single god, dominating from the solar disk in the highest heaven, in a single temple erected in the new capital of Armana, and whose representation was poured out on that mortal being, who was, in honor of his new function, change their name, whose meaning was " of great use to the god Aten".
How is this possible? Why does he want to change the things we are used to? Said in a desperate voice, one of his most faithful servants.
I don't know. Do you think there will be something to do?
He will not give up his purpose. Many people are against everything he has started to do, he even heard that they will not tolerate his impositions. Who is this god Aten that no one knows? Has he eternally handed him over to his life to impose his will? What will the other gods they want to destroy do about it?
Conspiring in the reign of the pharaohs was a common thing among the heirs to the throne since they all believed they were the directing children of the gods, and based on their own beliefs, they would not give up on a task that came directly from the mouth of their parents. .
"Something has to be done about it." We cannot allow someone to break the traditions that have held us together for so long.
Akhenaten's reign was only 17 years old. After his death, his 9-year-old son, Tutankhaten, succeeded to the throne. Being still a child, his mother greatly influenced the decisions of the new pharaoh. What mother wouldn't do what was necessary to help her son? However, the main purpose of the new Dynasty was to restore the traditions that his predecessor had eliminated. Returning to the worship of the other gods was his main objective, which probably gave rise to Akhenaten's death.
To carry out this task, he changed his name again, just like his father did. He wanted at all costs not to be linked to the establishment of a single god in all of Egypt, and this would not be possible if he continued to call himself ** "The living image of Aten" **.
Marriage between close parents was very common back then. Perhaps, and due to this, the children of Tutankhamen, a name acquired after his death, appeared even before birth, since his mother, Nefertiti, was the sister of his father Akhenaten.
I wonder... What dark things will exist in life to keep a dynasty or a monarchy afloat? Perhaps we will never know, but one thing is certain, their lives will mark history in a way that can never be forgotten.
