Sunday ☀️ 9546

After a restless and much too warm night, I just needed to sleep in today. That felt really good, but Sunday was once again very warm, with temperatures around 30 degrees. Except for that one hour when a really violent thunderstorm swept through the city and, as I later discovered on a walk through the Tiergarten, had toppled a large tree near the Unterschleuse. Up on my roof, the treetops were sweeping past the windows, and water was pouring down in torrents down the sides of the dormers. It was over just as quickly as it had started, and after a brief respite, the rest of the day was once again sticky and muggy.

Heute war nach unruhiger und viel zu warmer Nacht einfach Ausschlafen angesagt. Das tat sehr gut, aber der Sonntag war auch wieder sehr warm mit um die 30 Grad. Außer in der Stunde, in der mal eben ein richtig heftig stürmisches Gewitter über die Stadt fegte und wie ich später auf einer Runde durch den Tiergarten feststellen musste, einen großen Baum an der Unterschleuse umgelegt hatte. Bei mir im Dach fegten die Baumkronen über die Fenster und das Wasser kam in Sturzbächen an den Seiten der Gauben herunter. So schnell es kam, so schnell war es auch wieder weg und der Rest des Tages war dann nach kurzer Erfrischung wieder klebrig schwül.
