Sadness and pain were part of Kelsey's life from the very beginning; she was born into a dysfunctional home. From the moment she opened her eyes, she only saw abuse. Her parents were alcoholics and verbally abused her. They were very harsh and often asked her to do things she couldn't do, like grocery shopping or cooking when they were too drunk to do it. That was just the beginning of her suffering because there was something she considered even harder: the abuse continued at school. Her classmates mocked her for always being so gloomy and bitter. She was often alone in a corner, without friends. So they used to bully her, and at one point, someone even jumped her.

All these traumas shaped her into a fearful and timid person, but above all, tough and resilient. As she grew up, no one could easily dominate her, and bullies had to think twice before messing with her because her timidity had been broken by years of abuse. Although she was tough, she still retained a certain kindness, and she herself never sought trouble. She just wanted to be alone and stay out of everything.
As she grew older, she left home for good to build a life far from the mess she carried from her past. She pursued a degree in computer engineering. This allowed her to stay home without having to go out much. She could earn a living without socializing. To pass the long, boring days, she listened to a lot of synthwave. The genre was somewhat dark, but it gave her incredible strength to get through each day while she remained confined at home. She practically spent all day and night listening to synthwave. But within a few years, she had listened to every song in that specific genre. For her, there was nothing more detestable than hearing the same songs over and over again. So, over time, she ran out of the musical fuel that kept her going.
When this finally happened, she became very frustrated because without the music she loved, she couldn't spend her days cooped up, and listening to the same music again didn't produce the emotions she craved. So, she had to do something drastic. She was a computer engineer, so she had the knowledge to create her own synthwave music. That's why she started making it for herself. Because she made it herself, this new kind of synthwave was more comforting and less negative than the genres she'd been listening to for a long time. So, with that fuel, she could continue doing her usual boring things at home. Every week she dedicated a day to creating the music she would listen to that week; it was almost like going shopping and choosing what you'd consume.
Some time later, she saw someone on social media who had gone through the same thing as her. She saw that this person was sad and needed encouragement. So, she decided to do something for her because she had experience dealing with similar situations. She shared one of her synthwave creations with her. When the girl heard the song, she felt better and stronger. Surprisingly, she contacted Kelsey to find out who the artist was and to hear more. Kelsey had to tell her that she was the creator. The girl begged her for more of those songs because they had truly helped her. Seeing this, Kelsey shared more. The girl then shared them with others, and those others shared them with even more people. Before long, a community of people all over the world was listening to her music; they were people who had suffered the same thing.
When the community grew large enough, they wanted more music that would continue to comfort them. Kelsey realized that she had a purpose in this world, and that was to help those who had gone through the same thing. She needed to help them, and she wanted to do it. She emerged from her seclusion and sought help. Once ready to re-enter the world, she began composing songs so that everyone could feel less alone and find the strength they needed to break free from the isolation she had experienced. Without realizing it, she had begun her musical career.
