  1. Leaders are born that way. It is not true. You can learn to lead.
  2. Leaders have all the answers. No one has all the answers. They simply surround themselves with people who have different answers.
  3. Leaders are made for the spotlight. This is also not true, most of their work is done in the background and behind the scenes.
  4. Leaders work smarter than every other person. I disagree, in fact, they often work as hard or even harder than others too.
  5. The leader is the loudest person in the room. No, he is not.
  6. Leaders are extroverts. Lots of introverts are great leaders too.
  7. Leaders don't show signs of weakness. Maybe not often and not outwardly, but they do.
  8. Leadership is meant for certain people. No, everyone can be a leader if they can apply self-discipline!
  9. Leaders only lead, they don't follow. Most leaders are followers of someone else.
  10. You are not leading if you don't have followers. No, you may not have obvious followers, but you have influence over some people's decisions.
  11. Leaders keep their emotions in check. Most of the time, but they are human too!
  12. Leaders have a title. No! Many leaders do not have titles, they simply lead by influence and impact.
