The Organ Is Yours, And You Should Be Allowed To Do Whatever You Choose.
Hello, everyone.
I welcome you to my blog and another wonderful edition of the Hive Learner's featured post. One of the crimes that the law worldwide frowns at is organ trafficking, but like we all know, the law frowning at certain things does not stop people from engaging in them. Back in the day we had very few people go against the law and what it frowns at, but today we have even more people going against the law and everything it stands for, and that only makes today's world quite unsafe, unlike it used to be. The number of people who have no regard for the law keeps increasing by the day, and they always devise means when the law blocks or stands as a hindrance to their doings.
Worldwide the law frowns at the sale and trafficking of human organs, and therefore there is no means to do that the right way, but they still devised a means and operate from the shadows they call the black market. They still buy and sell human organs just like we buy and sell beef in the market, just that this one they don't do in the open, and before they let you in or let you know how they operate, you must have earned their trust or they must have seen your desperation to sell one of your organs. There have been reports of many hideouts where these operations are carried out getting busted, and it leaves me wondering how many more are out there.
Growing up there were times when kids went missing in school, and it was rumoured that every kid that went missing was a result of these organ traffickers coming to abduct kids so they could stay in business, and back then we could not help but believe the story because at least 6 out of 10 kids that went missing then were always found dead with vital organs missing, so it was obvious that these people were in business despite the law frowning at such acts. Then every morning before we leave for school, we always get advised not to follow strangers and always stay within school premises, and the story about kids that went missing and how they were found is told to us to scare us even more and keep us in line, and no doubt those stories did the magic.
Even our leaders and politicians are involved in such acts too; in 2023 or so, a top Nigerian politician was arrested for the same thing and for how they flew a boy outside the country only to want some of his vital organs without consent and replace his daughter's bad organ, but the government and the police of the country they took him to intervened, and he was apprehended before the deed was done and the boy rescued. The boy said he was not aware of what they had in mind for flying him out of the country, and that made the situation to be labelled as organ trafficking, as there was no consent.
I think I support that; as long as the person (donor) is willing to give it freely and it is not being forced or taken without consent, then they should be able to do so without having the government frown at them. Like in the case of the Nigerian politician, if the guy had said he is a donor and is doing it with consent, it would not have landed the politician in jail. We have had people donate vital organs, like one of their kidneys, to friends, loved ones and even those who did so they can get paid for doing so. I don't see anything wrong with an individual wanting to sell one of their kidneys or any vital organs as long as they can survive with whatever is left; then they can go ahead and do whatever they choose.
