It's not every time that a new species of carnivorous mammal is being discovered in the Americas. And also it’s not even every month,every year or in every decade. In fact, the olinguito, above, is a new specie, I will say the first new species, such species described in 35 years. Scientists had imagined why this furry little red creature Is not found breeding with others of its kind in the Andean cloud forests where it lives right now.
This year they found out: Anatomical and DNA tests established that the olinguito is a distinct species.
