I never bothered with the Defense Matrix turret ship upgrade in the game. Seemed like a lot of cost for a minor benefit that you only get to use once or twice in the game on those "Avenger Defense" missions. Still, it got me to thinking of how limited the imagination was in the design of the mission. If failing that mission meant the loss of the war, wouldn't you have your support staff chucking grenades from the top of the spacecraft?
Just as an aside, my son Alex wanted to be in one of the comics so here he got his wish. Though in real life his Skee-Ball skills pale in comparison to his old man's skills... 😉
