Good evening, hive friends, how are you? I'm a little tired today, after having two major fillings and still having anesthesia. To relax after the stress of the dentist, my husband and I decided to take an evening stroll in Pistoia to see the new Piazza San Lorenzo and wander the streets of the center in the evening. Luckily, it wasn't too cold today. We were a little disappointed, though, because Pistoia is a beautiful city, especially at night. Unfortunately, lately, it feels like walking through a huge construction site, and that's a real shame. There are construction sites everywhere, too many, which also ruin the city's aesthetic. We immediately headed to Piazza San Lorenzo, where redevelopment work has been underway for two years. We thought it was finished, but it wasn't entirely. You can see, however, that the square is starting to be renovated, but the church of San Lorenzo is still inaccessible, which is a real shame because inside there are several interesting frescoes and sacred art. In any case, I think the square will become very beautiful, and I hope the work will be completed in the new year. Because it is a very beautiful square surrounded by historic houses and typical Pistoia buildings.

We then continued our walk through some of Pistoia's typical alleys, lined with tall buildings and lined with stone walkways. Here, we saw charming houses with charming courtyard corners. This is a very traditional area of the city, close to the city center, and therefore older than the outskirts. It's a charming but poorly maintained area; unfortunately, as we wandered through some of the alleys, we also saw many crumbling houses with falling plaster, next to ruined buildings that were certainly beautiful before they collapsed. Pistoia is a very charming city at night, and it's pleasant to stroll leisurely through the center. Furthermore, at night, there are few people and it's very easy to walk. It's a truly rich city with so much to see and so many charming little historic alleys to wander through. See you soon on our next walk!
