The woman in black by Susan Hill the goth romance queen 馃枻 (Eng/Esp)
Good morning hivers here I am again talking to you about books, one of my greatest passions, last night I was practically very late to finish this novel in pure gothic style by Susan Hill, a true British champion of this genre of literature. Obviously I'll tell you beforehand that it has a slightly outdated but absolutely well written and elegant writing style. This is one of his most famous novels. The plot may appear banal but I assure you that his way of writing will truly give you shivers of fear. He describes himself as a young lawyer with a comfortable and pleasant life but who went through a traumatic experience when he was still a beginner. A young lawyer sent to a remote area of the country to deal with the inheritance of an old lady who lived alone in the middle of a swamp, in a house that could only be reached during low tides.
The village initially seems to relax him and be a pleasant place away from the smoky and chaotic London but he soon discovers that no villager wants to talk about the old lady and at her funeral with very few people he notices a strange figure, a worn-looking woman in black. When he begins to work at the old woman's house alone in the swamp and blocked by the tides he begins to hear terrifying sounds and noises and continues to see this woman in black who is definitely no longer part of the world of the living. It is a novel that scares with magnificent subtlety without excess but which creates a strong sense of fear and anxiety in the reader. I don't recommend it, I highly recommend it for lovers of the gothic genre! But don't read it before bed. .I warned you!
隆Te lo advert铆!
