Good morning hivers here I am with the last part of my trip to Larciano! Unfortunately several photos have been lost but luckily I have recovered some so I can show you this magnificent place too. I love castles and luckily my beautiful Italy is full of castles and fortresses. You can access this castle from the town with a small climb that leads directly to a square with a church, the castle can be visited for free and also the archaeological museum and the tower. But let's talk a little about the castle, located on the slopes of Mount Albano it has been active since ancient times and was important because the Via Francigena passed through there so it was a place of exchanges and trade. When it was annexed to Pistoia it was surrounded by a wall of which little remains today, it was in a strategic position so everyone fought over it. The first thing we did was climb the tower, how scary, lots of iron stairs with empty space underneath but from up there we understood why it was a much desired castle, from the top of the tower you can see the whole valley and the surrounding villages very well, the view was beautiful and it was worth climbing all those stairs!

Lamentablemente se perdieron varias fotos pero afortunadamente recuper茅 algunas para poder mostrarles tambi茅n este magn铆fico lugar. Me encantan los castillos y por suerte mi hermosa Italia est谩 llena de castillos y fortalezas. A este castillo se accede desde el pueblo con una peque帽a subida que conduce directamente a una plaza con una iglesia, se puede visitar gratuitamente el castillo al igual que el museo arqueol贸gico y la torre. Pero hablemos un poco del castillo, ubicado en las laderas del monte Albano, ha estado activo desde la antig眉edad y fue importante porque por all铆 pasaba la V铆a Franc铆gena por lo que era un lugar de intercambio y comercio. Cuando fue anexada a Pistoia estaba rodeada por una muralla de la que hoy poco queda, estaba en una posici贸n estrat茅gica por lo que todos luchaban por ella. Primero subimos a la torre, que miedo, muchas escaleras de hierro con un vac铆o debajo pero desde ah铆 arriba entendimos por qu茅 era un castillo tan deseado, desde lo alto de la torre se ve muy bien todo el valle y los pueblos vecinos, la vista era hermosa y vali贸 la pena subir todas esas escaleras!
Afterwards we went to the archaeological museum where a nice and super prepared guide taught us about many things, I had many photos of the museum and unfortunately I'm sorry to have lost them because I wanted to show you all the finds. However in the museum we saw Etruscan ceramics both the poorest and the most elaborate, we saw ancient Ligurian and Tuscan funerary urns, various artifacts from the Valdinievole and Monte Albano, very rich ceramics from Montelupo, a real tomb of an Etruscan girl that unfortunately I lost the photo, a real shame because it was interesting, various votive or war statues, ancient bronze tools. It is a really well done museum with many interesting things, I liked it a lot. Then unfortunately we had to leave the castle because it was getting dark but it is a place that I recommend you visit, everything is free and is easily reachable by car, also both the museum and the tower are beautiful to visit, unfortunately little remains of the castle walls and the interior but it is still an interesting visit!
Despu茅s fuimos al museo arqueol贸gico donde un gu铆a simp谩tico y s煤per conocedor nos instruy贸 sobre muchas cosas, ten铆a muchas fotos del museo y lamentablemente lamento haberlas perdido porque quer铆a mostrarles todos los hallazgos. Sin embargo, en el museo vimos cer谩micas etruscas, tanto las m谩s pobres como las m谩s elaboradas, vimos antiguas urnas funerarias de Liguria y Toscana, varios artefactos de Valdinievole y Monte Albano, cer谩micas muy ricas de Montelupo, una tumba real de una ni帽a etrusca cuya foto lamentablemente perd铆, una verdadera l谩stima porque era interesante, varias estatuas votivas o de guerra, antiguas herramientas de bronce. Es un museo muy bien hecho con muchas cosas interesantes, realmente me gust贸. Luego lamentablemente tuvimos que abandonar el castillo porque estaba oscureciendo pero es un lugar que os recomiendo visitar, es todo gratis y se puede llegar f谩cilmente en coche, adem谩s tanto el museo como la torre son preciosos para visitar, lamentablemente queda poco de las murallas y el interior del castillo pero aun as铆 es una visita interesante!
