Good evening, blog friends—how are you? I’m back with you to wrap up my road trip from Seano. On the way back, we decided to take a different route toward a village called Bottegone. I don’t know the exact etymology of the name—though I’ve visited the place a few times—but Bottegone literally means "big shop"; perhaps there were many shops there in the past—who knows? In any case, this place lies on the return route from Seano; it’s one of the first villages you encounter upon re-entering the municipality of Pistoia. It is a rural and nursery-farming area, but it was also a hub of great activity when the city of Pistoia expanded; numerous businesses sprang up here—not just nurseries, but also industries, factories, warehouses, and so on. Bottegone is divided into various hamlets. In the past, I’ve visited some lovely ones—like Piuvica—located in the more rural parts (which are the ones I prefer). I’ve gone walking there and, to my great surprise, discovered small local restaurants serving delicious food. As you know, I love good food, and this area offers many restaurants serving typical Tuscan dishes at very reasonable prices, all in simple, family-friendly settings.
Buenas tardes, amigos del blog: ¿cómo están? Vuelvo con ustedes para concluir el relato de mi viaje por carretera desde Seano. En el camino de regreso, decidimos tomar una ruta diferente hacia un pueblo llamado Bottegone. No conozco la etimología exacta del nombre —aunque he visitado el lugar en varias ocasiones—, pero Bottegone significa literalmente «gran tienda»; tal vez hubo muchas tiendas allí en el pasado... ¡quién sabe! En cualquier caso, este lugar se encuentra en la ruta de vuelta desde Seano; es uno de los primeros pueblos que uno encuentra al reingresar en el municipio de Pistoia. Se trata de una zona rural y dedicada a los viveros, pero también fue un foco de gran actividad cuando la ciudad de Pistoia se expandió; allí surgieron numerosos negocios: no solo viveros, sino también industrias, fábricas, almacenes, etcétera. Bottegone se divide en varias aldeas o núcleos de población. En el pasado he visitado algunas encantadoras —como Piuvica—, situadas en las zonas más rurales (que son mis preferidas). He paseado por allí y, para mi gran sorpresa, descubrí pequeños restaurantes locales que sirven comida deliciosa. Como saben, me encanta la buena mesa, y esta zona ofrece muchos restaurantes con platos típicos de la Toscana a precios muy razonables, todo ello en ambientes sencillos y familiares

As you can see, Bottegone is essentially a small village strung out along the main road (excluding the outlying hamlets scattered across the countryside). It is a small town but well-equipped with everything—especially beautiful views. It is also an area that is still expanding; I’m not sure if that’s a good thing, but compared to my last visit, there is less open countryside now and I saw many more buildings under construction. I fear that fields will soon give way to apartment blocks or houses. It is a highly sought-after area for housing because it is close to the city and offers easy access to all amenities. Indeed, there are many lovely detached houses and villas here, showing it to be a fairly affluent area—there are still plenty of factories and, presumably, lots of jobs. Fortunately, however, the fields haven't been completely destroyed, and there are still beautiful rural vistas featuring vast fields and farmhouses. All in all, it’s a nice place; I’d like to go back and see how the new developments transform it, though I hope they don't wipe out all the fields. See you soon, blog friends!
Como pueden ver, Bottegone es esencialmente un pequeño pueblo que se extiende a lo largo de la carretera principal (sin contar las aldeas periféricas dispersas por el campo). Es una localidad pequeña pero bien equipada con todo tipo de servicios y, sobre todo, cuenta con unas vistas preciosas. También es una zona en plena expansión; no sé si eso es algo positivo, pero, en comparación con mi última visita, ahora hay menos campo abierto y vi muchas más construcciones en marcha. Temo que los campos pronto den paso a bloques de apartamentos o viviendas. Es una zona muy cotizada para residir, ya que está cerca de la ciudad y ofrece fácil acceso a todos los servicios. De hecho, aquí hay muchas casas unifamiliares y villas encantadoras, lo que demuestra que es una zona bastante acomodada; además, sigue habiendo muchas fábricas y, presumiblemente, muchos empleos. Afortunadamente, los campos no han desaparecido por completo y todavía se pueden contemplar hermosos paisajes rurales con extensas tierras de cultivo y casas de campo.
