Good evening, hive friends, how are you? I've had a very busy week, but today I'm taking you with me again on one of my trips. Since the temperatures have risen again these days and the heat is truly terrible, my husband and I decided to spend an afternoon in the mountains at a place called Macchia Antonini, a place located in the Pistoia mountains that is very popular in the summer due to its cool climate and large forests. This area includes a few small clusters of houses, hectares and hectares of woodland, as well as fields, a small lake, and numerous hiking trails. This place lies below the Calmecca district and extends to the Forfora Valley. Its forests are mostly composed of Turkey oaks, some of which are centuries-old. It's a much-loved area for those who love the mountains and hiking. There are also many barbecue pits available free of charge to everyone, picnic areas, an outdoor gym, and so much to discover. It's perfect for spending one or more relaxing days in the cool summer air.

Como las temperaturas han vuelto a subir estos días y el calor es realmente terrible, mi marido y yo decidimos pasar una tarde en la montaña, en un lugar llamado Macchia Antonini, situado en las montañas de Pistoia, muy popular en verano por su clima fresco y sus extensos bosques. Esta zona incluye pequeños grupos de casas, hectáreas y hectáreas de bosque, además de campos, un pequeño lago y numerosas rutas de senderismo. Este lugar se encuentra bajo el distrito de Calmecca y se extiende hasta el valle de Forfora. Sus bosques están compuestos principalmente por robles turcos, algunos de ellos centenarios. Luckily, when we arrived, we found the place very empty. It's always a good idea to go on weekdays because on holidays, it's crowded and no longer a place to relax. Today, however, it was beautifully quiet, with only a few people walking or strolling, and a few lounging in the woods and on the lawn. I was right to bring a sweater because it was a bit chilly. We found some relief from the infernal heat. As soon as we arrived, we immediately took a walk to look at the grill stations in the woods because we'd like to return with friends for a barbecue. There are so many comfortable ones, we loved them! All made of stone, with tables and benches made of logs, it's a very beautiful place. Then we walked towards the lake. The woods are very large and have many paths, so you can't explore the entire area in one day, but you can at least see the two or three main sights.

Por suerte, al llegar, encontramos el lugar muy vacío. Siempre es buena idea ir entre semana, porque en días festivos se llena y ya no es un lugar para relajarse. Hoy, sin embargo, estaba maravillosamente tranquilo, con solo unas pocas personas caminando o paseando, y algunas descansando en el bosque y en el césped. Hice bien en llevar un suéter porque hacía un poco de fresco. Encontramos algo de alivio del calor infernal. En cuanto llegamos, dimos un paseo para ver las parrillas en el bosque porque nos gustaría volver con amigos para una barbacoa. ¡Hay muchísimas y cómodas, nos encantaron! Todas de piedra, con mesas y bancos de troncos, es un lugar precioso. Luego caminamos hacia el lago. El bosque es muy extenso y tiene muchos senderos, así que no se puede explorar toda la zona en un día, pero al menos se pueden ver los dos o tres lugares de interés principales.

Heading toward the lake, we took a short walk along the paths that run alongside it. It's a fairly small artificial lake with a few fish. It's now fenced in, but I know that until a few years ago, people used to peek in it. Even though it's fenced in, it's very beautiful. We walked around it, then to end the day, we headed to one of the largest meadows in the area, a popular spot with tourists because it's spacious and perfect for laying out a blanket and having a picnic. My husband and I spread out a blanket and relaxed, I reading, he playing Sudoku because the phone service isn't very good here on the meadow. It's the perfect place to unplug from social media for a bit. It was a quiet but truly pleasant day in a perfect place to escape the city and the heat.

De camino al lago, dimos un paseo corto por los senderos que lo bordean. Es un lago artificial bastante pequeño con algunos peces. Ahora está vallado, pero sé que hasta hace unos años la gente solía echar un vistazo. Aunque esté vallado, es precioso. Lo rodeamos y, para terminar el día, nos dirigimos a una de las praderas más grandes de la zona, un lugar popular entre los turistas por su amplitud y su paisaje perfecto para tender una manta y hacer un picnic. Mi marido y yo extendimos una manta y nos relajamos: yo leyendo, él jugando al Sudoku porque la señal telefónica no es muy buena aquí en la pradera. Es el lugar perfecto para desconectar un rato de las redes sociales. Fue un día tranquilo pero realmente agradable, un lugar perfecto para escapar de la ciudad y del calor.
