I don't always like ranting, but sometimes it's necessary for one to express him or herself and perhaps feel lighter. I have been wondering why some humans allow their conscience to die completely, because if everyone's conscience were alive, we wouldn't be seeing some actions, which are quite uncalled for.

I understand the importance of having a good relationship with our neighbors, and that's why I strive to keep calm even in the midst of misunderstanding. I will rather make an effort to fix issues and maintain peace with everyone because no one knows tomorrow. But then, I really wish that some people put their fellow humans under consideration before taking certain actions, but no, humans will always be human.

I live in a developing community. Here it is mostly dominated by people who build their own houses and live in them. We don't really have so much population, but yet, there's always one issue or the other from different people. Sometimes, I feel like transplanting my house to another estate here in Lagos, hehehe; perhaps it could be more serene and organized rather than what we have here currently.

My neighbor happened to be the chairman of this community. He is the first to make rules and the first to default. Good enough, he made a borehole for the community, and anyone who doesn't have water in their homes can comfortably go there to fetch water free of charge. Maybe this is one of the reasons why people are scared of talking to him whenever he defaults in one of the community rules. I don't think I care about how people regard him; maybe he deserves it, but what bothers me is how he and his four wives keep the environment very untidy. Because I live just beside his house, their dirtiness is already affecting my health. You can't even walk past in front of his house to my home without spitting due to how unkept they keep the whole environment. It's just a token we pay for the environmental people to pack the refuge, but I wonder if the token is a big deal for him to pay and get rid of his dustbin or if he doesn't care or see it as a problem.

As if the way they litter their Dustin isn't enough, I am sensing if their sock away is filled, but what he did recently was bring out his pipe on the major road, flooding the whole street with his smelling wastewater. Can you just imagine that? I have decided to go to his house and politely talk to him about those actions, but my husband wouldn't allow me. Like, why is everyone afraid of this man? It's really tiring.

Good enough, the Lagos State government recently commissioned our street road for gutter construction, street lights, and interlocks. Until the contractors are done with this project, my neighbor may not stop messing up with the public road. There are also some persons constantly burning tires and what have you. Each time they start their bush burning, the whole smoke will be choking, causing us difficulty in breathing for the time being. These and more are just some of the attitudes of some of my neighbors, which I find discomforting, and thus my rant this day.

By the way, it's a #beautifulSunday, and I hope you have a relaxing day.

Images are mine.
