It was a warm sunny winter day so I started off the morning doing some yard work. I was already nice and warmed up by the time I started my workout. The routine was full body consisting of six exercises.
Trapbar Deadlifts
50 lbs: 10 reps (warm up)
100 lbs: 7, 7, 6 reps
<- total of 30 reps
I can now lift a lot more weight doing any squating movement (including trapbar deadlifts) than I used to and it is not from getting stronger. This is because I reworked my form to break more at the hips than at the knees. I used to struggle to just get 1 or 2 reps per set with the trapbar at 100 lbs.
Shrugs with Trapbar
70 lbs 14, 11, 8 reps
<- total of 33 reps
Plate Raise
25lb plate: 15, 15, 15 reps
<- total of 45 reps
Push ups
My goal was to do 100 pushups as quickly as possible starting out by doing sets of 10. After the five sets I started reaching failure before reaching 10. It took me 12 minutes to reach 100. Note: I do my pushups 1 second down and 1 second up using pushup stands.
10, 10, 10, 10, 10, 7, 7, 6, 6, 6, 5, 5, 5, 3 reps
<- total of 100 reps
Curls
22.5 lbs
Alternating hammer curls 12 reps
Alternating regular curls 10 reps
Alternating hammer curls 11 reps
Alternating regular curls 8 reps
<- total of 41 reps
Lunges holding 12.5 lb dumbbells
10 reps each side
10 reps each side
10 reps each side
<-total of 30 reps
Workout time: 1 hour
Total reps: 30 + 33 + 45 + 100 + 41 + 30 = 279 reps
