"The Nuttier the Better"

I love nuts and thankfully they are good for you to eat. I try to always have nuts with me in my purse (and Jeep) as my "go-to" when I travel or just want a quick healthy snack. They have helped me on my journey to lose almost 20 pounds since July.

Pistacchios are my favorite nut. As I type this, I realize walnuts and almonds are also up there in a three way tie.

Pistachios, a member of the cashew family, grow as seeds on small trees that originated from the Middle East and Central Asia.

Pistachios (and all nuts) can help boost your energy levels, improve skin and eye health, and contribute to a healthy metabolism. They’re loaded with all kinds of nutrients, like vitamin B6, thiamine, potassium, copper, magnesium and iron, for starters. Pistachios also contain healthy monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats but are free of trans fat and cholesterol. (Source draxe.com)

What are your favorite type of nuts?

Reminds me of lyrics from Prince's song "Let's Go Crazy"
"Are we gonna let the elevator
Bring us down, oh, no let's go
Let's go crazy, let's get nuts
Look for the purple banana
'Til they put us in the truck, let's go!"
