Aunque organizar meet-ups y encuentros con varios Hivians se ha convertido en una experiencia divertida, en mi caso, no ha dejado de ser una apuesta poco segura. Intentar quedar con poco tiempo de anticipaci贸n puede llegar funcionar, pero hay que encargarse de hacer que las cosas funcionen para todos. As铆 que he pensado que en momentos en los que estoy de paso por alg煤n lugar entre viajes, puedo intentar contactar puntualmente con alg煤n usuario y acercarme a saludar aunque sea un momento, si la rutina de lo permite.
Le encontr茅 en plena acci贸n, aunque con poca clientela. Es la ventaja de ir a un bar en las afueras de Madrid cuando el resto del mundo estaba celebrando San Patricio en el centro.
As fun as it has become to organize meet-ups and get-togethers with various Hivians, in my case, it has been a bit of a gamble. Trying to meet at short notice can work, but you have to make sure that things work for everyone. So I was thinking that at times when I'm passing through somewhere between trips, I can try to contact a user on time and come over to say hello, even for a moment, if the schedule permits.
Wesp05 answered my call easily, with only a day's notice I told him that I would be near the place where I had seen him working and that I could stop by in the evening to be his guest.
I found him in full action, yet with not many customers. That's the advantage of going to a bar on the outskirts of Madrid when the rest of the world was celebrating St. Patrick's Day downtown.
La cafeter铆a Norte-Sur es un bar de barrio en Legan茅s. Un lugar donde los clientes asiduos son los vecinos y trabajadores de la zona que se re煤nen a ver los partidos de f煤tbol, celebrar cumplea帽os o desayunar diariamente con las t铆picas tapas, raciones y cervecitas.
Por lo que me pareci贸 una buena idea llevar a un amigo a quien estoy mostrando por primera vez en la zona y quer铆a vivir la t铆pica experiencia espa帽ola.
Nuestro gran wesp05 nos recibi贸 con una gran sonrisa y mucha amabilidad, a pesar de que le dar铆amos la lata entre varios pedidos de comida y muchas rondas de cervezas.
Llegamos en un momento en el que 茅l, como 煤nico encargado del local, atend铆a a unos clientes que estaban de paso y limpiaba los enseres pendientes, una tarea que no dejaba de atender con una constante sonrisa.
The Norte-Sur cafeteria is a neighborhood bar in Legan茅s. A place where regular customers are the neighbors and workers in the area who gather to watch soccer matches, celebrate birthdays or have breakfast daily with the typical tapas, raciones and beers.
So it seemed like a good idea to take a friend who I am showing for the first time in the area and wanted to live the typical Spanish experience.
Our great wesp05 greeted us with a big smile and a lot of kindness, even though we would be bothering him between several food orders and many rounds of beers.
We arrived at a time when he, as the only one in charge of the place, was attending to some customers who were passing through and cleaning up the pending belongings, a task that he did not fail to attend to with a constant smile.
Poco antes de llegar, le ped铆 que me compartiera la carta del local para ir adelantando nuestro pedido y no dejarlo todo para 煤ltimo momento. Luego de llegar y servirnos con mucha maestr铆a la primera ronda de jarras de cervezas, nos explic贸 algunas cosas sobre el men煤, las raciones y cantidades m谩s convenientes.
En cuanto a las jarras de cervezas, pedimos 1906 y estrella Galicia para comenzar. Estaban bien fr铆as y me divert铆 mucho grab谩ndole a 茅l mientras las serv铆a.
Nos lleg贸 un fest铆n compuesto por bocadillos de calamar, bocadillos de lomo con queso, ensalada de pollo, hamburguesa de la casa y tostada de queso de cabra que nos llenaron con tan solo mirarlo. Y claro, yo tenia que probar las famosas orejas de cerdo que le vi hacer en un post que escribi贸 hace unas semanas, as铆 que tambi茅n formaron parte del men煤.
Adem谩s, nuestro anfitri贸n nos invit贸, por parte de la casa, a unas croquetas de jam贸n serrano y jam贸n ib茅rico hechas tambi茅n por 茅l mismo. Pero eso no fue todo, pues un par de rondas de cervezas tambi茅n corrieron por su cuenta.
Shortly before arriving, I asked him to share with me the menu of the restaurant in order to anticipate our order and not let everything to the last minute. After arriving and serving us with great skill the first round of pitchers of beer, he explained some things about the menu, the most convenient portions and quantities.
As for the pitchers of beer, we ordered 1906 and Estrella Galicia to start. They were nice and cold and I had a lot of fun filming him pouring them.
We had a feast of calamari sandwiches, sirloin cheese sandwiches, chicken salad, house burger and goat cheese toast that filled us up just by looking at it. And of course, I had to try the famous pig's ears that I saw him make in a post he wrote a few weeks ago, so they were also part of the menu.
In addition, our host invited us, on behalf of the house, to some croquettes of Serrano ham and Iberian ham also made by himself. But that was not all, as a couple of rounds of beers were also on him.
Incluso cuando decidimos cambiarnos a botellines, wesp05 nos ofreci贸 brindar algunas. El ambiente estaba muy agradable porque s贸lo entraban algunos compradores de tabaco o caf茅 a pedir algo r谩pidamente y del resto, 茅l pod铆a sentarse un rato a hablar con nosotros y compartir an茅cdota de vida, aunque sin estar consumiendo nada.
Hubo un momento divertido en el que estuvimos hablando de m煤sica y poniendo canciones a nuestro gusto ora ambientar el local. Era casi una fiesta privada, pero una muy tranquila.
Estuvimos tomando cerveza Alhambra Verde hasta que se acabaron y tuvimos que decidir parar para que 茅l pudiera descansar y cerrar temprano el local, pero ofrecernos unos chupitos de Licor de Orujo como despedida nos puso m谩s habladores y terminamos haciendo planes para continuar la charla en otro lugar luego de que cerrara el local.
Even when we decided to switch to bottles, wesp05 offered to provide us with some. The atmosphere was very pleasant because only a few buyers of tobacco or coffee came in to order something quickly and from the rest, he could sit for a while to talk with us and share anecdotes of life, although without consuming anything.
There was a funny moment when we were talking about music and playing songs to our liking to set the mood of the place. It was almost a private party, but a very quiet one.
We were drinking Alhambra Verde beer until they ran out and we had to decide to stop so he could rest and close the place early, but offering us some shots of Licor de Orujo as a farewell made us more talkative and we ended up making plans to continue the chat somewhere else after the place closed.
Nuestro anfitri贸n se puso manos a la obra, pues al estar a cargo del local en su totalidad, no solo ten铆a que cerrar caja y reponer neveras, sino tambi茅n. limpiar y dejar todo ordenado para volver al d铆a siguiente a abrir muy temprano.
Tengo que decir que el trabajo que tiene hacer todo esto, no est谩 pagado. Tiene mucho m茅rito ese gran esfuerzo y dedicaci贸n a las labores que le tocan que este chico cumple con tanta honradez, es un gran ejemplo de esfuerzo y dedicaci贸n.
Mientras pensaba esto al verle atareado culminando la jornada laboral del d铆a, me tomaba la 煤ltima ca帽a en este bar y me llenaba de alegr铆a haber decidido acercarme a conocer el entorno laboral de este compa帽ero de block chain.
Revisamos cuentas y 茅l muy atend铆, repaso toda nuestra orden y nos cobr贸 menos rondas de cervezas de las consumidas porque le hab铆an autorizado a tener ese detalle con nosotros al visitarle.
Our host got down to work, because being in charge of the whole place, he not only had to close the cash register and restock the fridges, but also to clean and leave everything tidy to come back the next day to open very early.
I have to say that the work it takes to do all this, is not paid. It has a lot of merit that great effort and dedication to the work that this guy does with such honesty, he is a great example of effort and dedication.
While I was thinking this as I saw him busy finishing the day's work, I was having the last beer in this bar and I was very happy to have decided to get to know the work environment of this block chain colleague.
We checked bills and he was very attentive, checked our entire order and charged us for fewer rounds of beer than we had consumed because he had been authorized to have that special treat with us when we visited him.
No voy a decir que estamos hablando de un local entra帽able y para el que recomiende viajar hasta all铆 para probar lo que nosotros comimos. Es un lugar en donde encuentras productos de corte casual, pero de la mano de un compa帽ero de Hive que est谩 haciendo un gran esfuerzo para fijarse un camino digno y salir adelante por su propia cuenta, algo que no es nada f谩cil y que cuesta much铆simo.
Te agradezco de todo coraz贸n habernos recibido y tratarnos tambi茅n, pero tambi茅n me disculpo por haberte dado trabajo de m谩s tan cercano a la hora de cierre.
Para mi fue toda una aventura llegar hasta all谩 y conocer una nueva zona, tan cercana de Madrid, pero que hasta ahora no se me hab铆a cruzado por la mente visitar.
Quer铆a compartir este recuerdo y todas estas fotos del momento para que nos quedemos con un interesante registro de este encuentro tan agradable y que nos inspire a poder repetirlo en cuanto sea posible.

I'm not going to say that we are talking about an endearing place and for which I recommend traveling there to try what we ate. It is a place where you find casual products, but from the hand of a fellow Hive who is making a great effort to set a worthy path and move forward on their own, something that is not easy and costs a lot.
I thank you from the bottom of my heart for having received and treated us as well, but I also apologize for having given you extra work so close to closing time.
For me it was an adventure to get there and get to know a new area, so close to Madrid, but that until now had not crossed my mind to visit.
I wanted to share this memory and all these photos of the occasion so that we can keep an interesting record of this pleasant encounter and inspire us to repeat it as soon as possible.
