Hello everyone, I hope you're doing well. I am excited to share this post with you as I was to learn how to make homemade bread today! I like to make sweets following different recipes I find but since my mom never follows any recipe when it comes to cooking, I have always found it hard to learn and I would give up before even starting properly.
With all the recent events lately, me and my family are staying isolated and I am usually the one who goes to our local grocery store when we need it, every second or third day. Since we all eat quite a lot of bread, we make it (well, my mom does) on days when there is no visit to the grocery store. I realized how certain skills are important on days like these so I asked my mom to teach me how to make bread.
Here is a little sneak peak of me tasting the bread
Ingredients:
- white flour
- oil
- salt
- oats
- sunflowers seeds
- sesame seeds
- yeast
- lukewarm water
So I followed my mom's instructions and even though she eye-balled all the ingredients, I tried to remember how much of each she used. I was quite focused on the task so I didn't take any photos in the process but here is how everything looked like when it was all mixed.
I had a lot of assistance from my mom so I think I got it and tomorrow I will try to make it myself. I was quite proud since this bread turned out really nice and tasty but we'll see how it will turn out when I have no help. :) I obviously didn't spread it evenly so it turned out a bit crooked, lol.
Taste test
As I was watching the latest episode of The walking dead, I treated myself to some sweet spread similar to Nutella and a cup of coffee. The bread was crispy on the bottom and top while sides and inside was so soft. It was still a little bit warm when I sliced two pieces as I couldn't wait anymore to try it.
Is there anything you've learned lately? Any new skills you're working on or maybe just a hobby that you finally started practicing? Let me know in the comments. Thank you for stopping by! :)
