Life is all about giving. As they say, there’s more blessing in giving than I. receiving and anyone who gives, receives more than he has given. That’s just the law of nature.
As humans, there’s no way we can do this life thing alone and that’s why we have our family, friends and other loved ones doing this life thing with us. Having people around who support you in all you do eases the stress from our everyday life. The little we could do for these people sometimes is to show our appreciation through gifts.
I’ve received so many gifts from different people in my life and they all meant the world to me. I remember how I used to eye one novel from the bookshop right opposite my school. I’d always tell my sister how much I wanted to read that book and to my surprise, she saved up her pocket money and got me the book. Words can’t explain how happy and heard I felt then. I didn’t really need that book that badly but my sister made a decision out of the goodness of her heart to get it for me.
I almost forgot about how I would always fight with my brother just to get him to send my stuff from home through a bus to school. He would keep forgetting about it everyday until my mom would decide to go to the bus terminal to get my stuff sent to me and she never forgets to add some extras for me.😂 Sometimes it would be foodstuff, clothes and what have you. She knew school was hard for me and she made sure to make me feel better in her own little way and for that I love her.
The list keeps going on and on and I don’t think I’d be able to finish today so I’d better stop here. Within the past few years, my circle has grown smaller and smaller by the day as everyone has their own stuff to deal with. So, I’d like to narrow down the list to the past two years till date. I’d say the best gifts I received within the past two years would be those from my partner and my bestfriend.
For someone who isn’t really a big fan of Valentine’s Day, I was surprised when I got back home from lectures to find out that by boyfriend got me something nice for Valentine’s. It really came as a surprise to me because he traveled several hours to get it to me. If you want to know what it was, you should see me in chambers.😂
The next one would be the gifts I got from my best friend on my birthday last year. Even though we planned to celebrate it together, somehow my plans changed and so we were away from each other when the day came. This guy went out of his way to plan a whole day of surprises for me.😂 He’s a rich guy though so what could I have thought. He gave me gifts which have served a good purpose for me till date and I’m really grateful for such friends.
And oh, to my loved ones, secret admirers and all of you out there. In case you’re planning to surprise me soon, you should consider getting me a car. If you can’t afford that, an air conditioner would do. If that’s too much for you then you could get me food but just make sure it’s delicious.🙃
