Today was really a stressful day for me As a student, I don't really have much free time because I have school activities and other I have other things to do, so today was actually the only day I had some free time to do something for myself, maybe even look for a small job or rest a little.
But my plans changed completely. My mother is not currently in the city with me. She is in the village, and I am the only one here in the city. Because of that, whenever she needs to buy something from the city, she usually sends me money and asks me to help her get it.The way we normally do it is simple. She sends me the money, I withdraw it, buy whatever she needs, and then take it to the waterside where I can waybill it to the village through a boat.
The village is about two hours away from the city by boat, so that is basically our means of transportation between the two places.Normally, my mother was supposed to send the money to me last night so I could prepare myself for everything today. But she didn't send anything, so I assumed she had changed her mind and wasn't buying the stuff anymore. To my greatest surprise, early this morning my phone rang and When I checked it was my mother calling. She told me that she had sent the money into my account that I should go and buy the things for her.
Honestly, I wasn't happy at all. I was already tired just thinking about the whole journey, especially because today was supposed to be my free day. But what could I do? She is my mother, so I had to help her.A few minutes later, I started getting ready. I had my bath, brushed my teeth, dressed up and left the house.I went to the place where they prepare the stuff my mother wanted. We usually call it "Madiga," and they prepare it almost like a cake, so it takes some time before everything is ready. I had no choice but to wait.I waited for some hours before they finally finished preparing mine.
Once it was ready, I packed everything properly, made the payment and carried it with me.That was when the second part of my journey started — getting the stuff to the waterside so I could send it to the village.
I entered a tricycle from the road and went straight to the place where I was supposed to load the things into the boat. When I got there, another problem was waiting for me.First, it had started raining, so everything was delayed. By that time, I was already very hungry and tired. Then, to make matters worse, the boat driver told me that I had to pay the waybill money before he would allow me to load the stuff into the boat.
The problem was that my mother hadn't sent the waybill money. She thought I would be able to pay when the goods arrived at the village.I explained everything to the driver and begged him to allow me to load it first and that my mother would pay when it got there. But he refused. He said he couldn't allow me to put the things in the boat without payment. At that point,
I had no other option than to call my mother.I tried calling her, but her number wasn't connecting. I tried again and again, and I was already getting frustrated because I was standing there with the things while it was raining and I was hungry. Finally, the call connected.I quickly explained the situation to her, and she understood. She sent the money immediately.
I went to withdraw it and gave it to the driver. Only after that did he allow me to load everything into the boat. After everything was finally loaded, I waited for a little while until the boat was ready to leave. I watched as they prepared to start the journey to the village, and honestly, I was just happy that at least that part was over. After that, I started my own journey back home.
By the time I got home, I was already tired and hungry. What was supposed to be my only free day turned into a whole day of running around, waiting, calling, spending money on transportation and dealing with different problems. It was stressful and, at some point, really frustrating. But that's life sometimes. You make plans for your day, and something completely different happens. At the end of everything, I just told myself, "It is what it is."At least my mother's stuff finally got sent to the village, and that was the most important thing. Now all I need to do it to rest and relax myself
