One thing most women of today do not realize is the fact that, we are not in competition with anyone but our own selves. Instead of seeing your fellow woman as your enemy, you should look on the brighter side, come together and help each other grow. Helping your fellow woman is really not going to make you less of a person, but rather, you create bonds that would be there till thy kingdom come. Having women in your corner is one hell of a blessing one can wish for in their lives. No one is perfect and so, there’s bound to be one or two issues in every friendship but we grow stronger by addressing these issues and making up. It is only then we can be better people for ourselves.
Personally, I wouldn’t say I’m a big fan of people. These days, I prefer to be all by myself having my peace of mind, but that doesn’t mean I have to let go of the people in my life. Being a woman, I know how hard it gets trying to build something for yourself. There’s always something or someone trying to hinder the growth of women for no reason. I have faced that first hand and if I hadn’t had other women help me out, I don’t know what would have been of me today.
This is why I believe so much in giving back to the women and the society as a whole. One thing I can’t do in my life is to sit and watch my fellow woman go through some struggles when I know I can be of help to them. Most at times, it’s the little things that matter. In a world of technology, it’s funny how most of our sisters have no one to talk to.
Being the person that I am, one thing I prioritise most is checking up on other women in my circle to see how things are going on with them. Also, there are so many opportunities out there and I’m fortunate to come across so many of them on daily basis. We rise by lifting others and so, my little way of making a difference in the lives of other women is to provide them with such opportunities to better themselves in life. I can’t keep everything to myself as that would be very selfish of me. If my male friends and acquaintances are able to benefit from me in this regard, how much more my fellow ladies.
It’s one thing to receive support from men but it’s another whole ball game receiving support from women. Over the years, I’ve had so many women support me in every little thing I do both from the sidelines and in their own little way. The feeling of having people like you looking out for you and rooting for you is really a feeling I can’t get over. This support served more as a stepping stone for me as I knew that most people looked up to me and so I couldn’t disappoint them. In the same way I have been supported by other women, I also make sure to root for other women in my own little way but I never do things in a little way. I always go big when it comes to supporting my own gender because why not?
Women also play a huge role in changing and shaping our world to be a better place. If we can’t support our own, who would?
