The extent of advancement of technology in today’s world cannot really be overemphasized. Some years back, we used to struggle with basic phone call and messaging systems and today we get to enjoy quick and convenient phone calls and messaging coupled with more perks we never thought we would have.

Thanks to technology, the world has been transformed for most of us. Things have been made easier for most of us and this means that life itself has been made easier. I don’t know about you, but I wouldn’t think twice about paying for something that will make life easier. I remember how my mom used to say that lazy people suffer but honestly, I’ve seen lazy people living their best lives in today’s era.If you can afford that washing machine, electric cooker or cleaner, get it. There’s no reward for struggling.

Not only have our personal lives been made easier thanks to technology, our work lives and socials life’s have been advanced in one way or the other. I always tell my sister that most of the things I have are literally on my phone and laptop which I wouldn’t want to lose. Some parts of my business is run online and thsi requires me to be on the phone most of the time. Should incase I need anything from someone, my first stop would be to place a phone call to them.

I would say I used to be someone who was very addicted to my devices. Back in my teens, I could stay up all night doing God knows what on my phone. When I think about it now, I know all the sleepless nights weren’t really worth it because I gained nothing from that. Even now, I will say I’m partially an addict when it comes to my devices especially with my phone. I’m literally on the phone most of the time checking this or that or sometimes just scrolling through social media.

But then again, when it’s time for serious things. I know to put my phone or whatever device away because life isn’t always about social media or being on the phone. For example, when I plan to hang out with my friends, I make sure to stay away from my phone so as to give them all my attention and also enjoy the moment. Sometimes I get mad when I see my friends literally buried in their phones when we hang out. The person on the other end isn’t going anywhere so why not just enjoy the money. To some extent, i have found a way to not hang out with these kinds of people because i believe that if you are not ready to be there and take part in whatever is going on, do not show up at all. That to me is better than showing up and not taking part in whatever is going on. But hey, who am I to tell them what to do.

Technology in general has its upsides and downsides. But how you use it and what you make of it so what matters the most. As an upcoming individual, make sure to be on the winning side and not the losing side.
