Immersing myself in the story of Ojo Guareña has made me reflect on all the times I walk somewhere without paying attention to what lies beneath my feet.
We pass through mountains, fields, and roads, never imagining that just a few meters down, there might be an entire world—galleries, underground rivers, absolute silence. And there we are, completely unconcerned, gazing at the horizon.
I find it fascinating that such places exist—so vast yet so hidden. It is as if the earth keeps its best secrets for those who take the trouble to seek them out.
What strikes me most is that this underground world is not dead. Water keeps flowing, eroding, and transforming everything. While we go about our lives up here, the stone below is being shaped, drop by drop.
It is almost dizzying to consider the timescale nature operates on compared to our own.
But still, at least we can catch a glimpse. We can read, imagine, and try to picture what lies down there. You don’t need to be physically present to feel small in the face of something so immense.
And I think that, in itself, is quite a journey.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading this far.
See you on the next adventure!
