Hello dear moms and dads of this beautiful community, this time I am writing with a bit of concern, well, who am I kidding, with a lot of concern. It is that we parents worry exaggeratedly when it comes to our children, even more so when it is an illness.
Almost a week ago I started to feel sick, I got fever, chills, headache and other things. Like every parent I immediately worried about infecting my baby who is 8 months old, so I immediately put on my mouth guard and I did not take it off at any time. I had to protect him at least a little bit. As if he and I were connected, he had not finished the day and he started to complain as if something was hurting him, his garlic looked duller than usual. Strange thing because he is characterized by always looking cheerful and investigating everything. When I put the thermometer in his thermometer he had a temperature of 39°C.
That's where my concern began, we both had the same discomfort. It was a difficult night because we did not get rid of the fever all night, the next day I called the pediatrician, (I had forgotten to mention that the day the fever started, in the morning he had an appointment with the pediatrician and everything was fine, he checked him and auscultated him and everything was fine) I mentioned my symptoms and his symptoms and as he had checked him the day before he realized that it was a virus so he prescribed antiallergic and acetaminophen nothing more.
My baby responded well to the medications, he had no more fever that day thanks to the effects of the acetaminophen that he was given every 4 hours, so I was calmer. That tranquility did not last long because I realized at lunchtime that he had no taste or smell. Everything indicated that we had covid.
I am already 7 days without taste or smell, my child is under complete surveillance in case he develops other symptoms. But until he stops coughing, I will not feel at ease. Just the thought of him being hospitalized makes me very nervous. Also, I'm afraid that they will leave me and I won't be able to breastfeed him. That virus plays with our minds so that we are overcome with anxiety, but we should not despair and follow the doctors' instructions. On Monday I have to do a chest X-ray to see if my lungs are affected, I hope everything goes well and both my child and I recover soon from that virus that does not allow anyone to escape from it, the covid-19.
When you are a parent, although you are scared about what might happen to you, you are not really worried about yourself but about what might happen to your baby if you are not there, that's why we have to get all the strength we have to recover for the welfare of our children. Thank you for reading me, I will be attentive to your comments.
