Sino a diversas situaciones.
No te agradecen. No te respetan.

Yesterday something very interesting happened to me. I went to my sisterâs house, and her brother-in-law gave me coffee. I accepted it: it was coffee with milk and sugar.
The strange thing is that I donât drink coffee or consume sugar. It also happened to me with a gentleman some time ago who occasionally comes to visit us and brought sweet bread; I accepted it and even ate it in front of him. With the coffee, I got lucky and gave it to someone else.
The truth is that all these situations led me to a process of self-analysis: why did I say yes when the logical thing was to say no?
And the only answer I got was: so that person wouldnât think I was rude and ill-mannered for rejecting their gesture.
Which in turn led me to think about how sometimes we choose over ourselves. That is, Iâm not rude or ill-mannered toward the other person, but I am toward myself when I say yes when I really want to say no.
This isnât limited to food alone. But to various situations. It happened with my sister that many times she would tell me she had to run an errand and ask if I could watch her daughter. And so that she wouldnât think I was a bad sister, Iâd agree, when the truth was, many times I didnât want to or couldnât. Sometimes I had work, situations that prevented me from doing it, or I was simply tired.
However, I kept saying yes, and once again I chose others over myself.
She liked having a sister who always took care of her daughter.
But what about my mind? What did my head think of itself?
Simple.
They were someone who didnât respect themselves and didnât value themselves.
Moreover, the only one who seeks external approval at your own expense is the Ego.
Another important point is that when you get people used to always saying yes, even when you donât want to, they tend to take advantage of you. They donât thank you. They donât respect you. In the end, it doesnât teach them anything good.
And how can you demand from others something you donât even give yourself? Letâs remember that life is a mirror: what you give is what you get.
Iâve come to the conclusion that saying âyesâ when we want to say ânoâ is a form of self-abuse. It is not loving ourselves and therefore not loving our brother.
Itâs not about being malicious either. Saying no out of sheer disgust. Thatâs not the point. If youâre going to say no, ask yourself why youâre doing itâjust to annoy and judge the other person, or because you truly canât or donât want to. This is about saying ânoâ with loveâlove for yourself and love for the other person.
I know I still have a way to go, but Iâm already aware, so I hope I wonât make the same mistake next time.
Iâm sending you lots of love đđ and leaving you some photos I took this morning.
