Hello,
I'm like little kids looking forward to getting to the beach already. I'm tired and a bit scattered too. I made a video of a part of my day.
(This post should have come out earlier and I should already be in bed, but there was a little problem, the power went out suuudddddennly... that delayed me)
It is already past 12 am.... :(
There is no silence in it, only in some parts where I removed the audio myself. My house is very quiet and I know that well, I notice it more when I walk away from it.
The video shows a bit of the landscape I could see from the window of the old car, one of those classic cars or Almendrones as we call them here. It didn't have very good suspension and being tin it sounded like a demon. We even had a Dementor attack. 馃榿
I was travelling to Artemisa, which is about 60 kilometres from Havana. My family on my mother's side lives there.
Then I arrived at C茅spedes and Avenida Street and got off the rolling tin can. My aunt was waiting for me there. I went with her to her house and spent some time with her and her pets. The cotorra (parrot) is a talker par excellence and she told me she was rehearsing, because they gave her a part in the silent comedy. Just as well, because with all the shouting she does, she becomes unbearable. Luckily now she's quiet while I finish this post.
My aunt set the seams on a pair of shorts for me and said she was going to make me some sleeves with a thin fabric for my bike rides.
She has a little sewing workshop and sews very well. She's a pro at this 馃檪, and although her sewing machines are old, she always keeps them up to date and they have served them for many years.
My aunt is one of those people who knows how to do everything. They call her a handywoman.
I took some pictures of her threads and her mess. Everyone has their own mess, right?
Then we went to visit my grandma. In the video, she complains because we're leaving for Varadero first thing in the morning and she didn't have her hair cut. Now - she says - she has to look ugly until Friday or Saturday. We didn't see her hair as ugly, quite the opposite.
My grandmother has always liked to look pretty.
I also laughed a bit with her and her stories. Today she told me that she is going to place a small glass of water for us to have luck on the trip, and that her dad, Sabino, used to cure with water, invoking a spirit. And that she made that request to that spirit too. A man she never met, Doctor Periquito.
I found the story funny, but now I know where my obsession with water comes from and that I don't take pills, just water if I feel unwell. I only take a pill in extreme cases. Sometimes when I have an unbearable migraine, like a few days ago.
Being with family is always very good. And tomorrow will be even better because we're going to relax at the hotel we like, the StarFish Cuatro Palmas. I had to come because the bus to Varadero Beach is leaving from here. I will tell you all about it. I won't stop posting. I already have a whole plan made for leisure, without neglecting work. And I might even go see my relatives, the dolphins, at the Dolphinarium there. I'll bring them a Hive pin.
I miss Chanel, my little singer dog. 馃槕
Hugs... see you (muy) soon.
