I am happy to be able to share with you these scenes from my cycling to Campo Polar, a synthetic football pitch we have here in Havana City.
It all came out of the blue. I was at home, doing housework, without electricity, due to the power cuts that overwhelm us given our complicated economic situation throughout the country. My friends, who were nearby, called me. They asked me if I wanted to go for a ride with them. I left everything. I fed my pets in case it took me a while to get home and we set off aimlessly.

We took the Husillo road and went out to 51st Street, and then the idea of visiting the football field came up. All thanks to the explorer Yoyo Batman who always has surprises of routes through intricate places in our city.
This was the first artificial turf to be installed in Cuba and was part of the FIFA Goal Project. The announcement was made in 2013 and if I am not mistaken it was for 2017 when the works started.
They were in some kind of competition and allowed me to take pictures from the outside of the field.
The soccer players were very excited to see me with the camera and asked me to take some pictures of them.
I have already sent the pics to them, by the way. I'm sure they liked that souvenir.
In this scene I liked, it was probably children from the neighbourhood who were allowed to play there and watch the games.
You can see in the video that we continued pedalling to other places, but that's another story, which I will, of course, tell you in another blog.
Oh, I almost forgot, this is the picture I took when I grabbed the camera. It's a view of the so-called Trinquete, a Pelota Vasca complex, where there are a few courts. I don't know what state they are in. I'll have to go there one of these days.
