On 22 September, I celebrated four years here on Hive. I received a notification from hivebuzz@hivebuzz on my last post and, although I’d intended to write a post… you know, as it was my anniversary, I’ve had – and am still having – loads of setbacks, and I put it off for so long that look at when I’m finally getting round to mentioning it.

😅

Well… I just want to tell you all that I celebrate every single day the fact that I found Hive and the absolutely brilliant people I interact with here. Much of the joy you’ll see in the video I’m sharing with you is down to Hive and the opportunities it’s given me, as well as motivating me to do things I never thought I’d do… Cycling, for sport, wasn’t part of my plans. But one thing led to another, and here I am.

Yesterday I got back from a ride of nearly 80 km and, instead of eating and sleeping, I set about editing this video. My internet connection has been non-existent these past few days.

Now it’s 7 am and I’m trying to upload it from the roof of my house, so I’ll be really happy if I finally manage it.

There’s a lot of laughter in the video because I told them I was going to interview them and, while I was at it, I was testing the wireless microphones I bought a while ago... 😂 I’ve included a few photos as well.

We set off at 7.30 am, planning to take the highway all the way to the Mariel Bridge. From there, we head into the town of Guanajay and, after spending a while in the park there, we returned home via the central road – which is narrower – passing through other towns such as Caimito, Bauta and Punta Brava.

In the latter neighbourhood, which is part of the La Lisa municipality in Havana, we rejoined the highway and, in the blink of an eye, I was back home preparing my lunch.

I wasn’t actually that hungry because we’d had a bite to eat at the stops we made along the way. But even so, I had a really nutritious lunch 😂… In one of those villages I bought a big avocado, and here at home I made rice, fried eggs and some croquettes I’d made with chicken, spinach and pumpkin.

I’d burnt loads of calories, so I needed to eat and recharge my batteries… The spinach croquettes kept me awake, and instead of having a nap, I decided to edit this video and reminisce a bit about the fun we had.

🙄 Well, that’s it then. I can’t upload a video from here, so I’ve decided to have breakfast and head off somewhere in this city where the connection will let me upload this post… Whilst I’m there, I’ll stick around to see if any assignments come in. I’m sure the day will bring some lovely surprises. Happy Monday to you all, and thanks for popping by.

Right now I’m here, just before the entrance to the Línea tunnel, and the 269 MB video is halfway through uploading… 😅😂😀 My life’s always an adventure.
