Hello everyone, hope you are all well 馃槉 Today I went to visit the ruins of S茫o Jorge, on the island of Madeira.

I'll start by showing you the stones of this wonderful beach. Almost all beaches in Madeira have rocks and not sand. I confess that I don't like going to the beach very much, but it has another charm. I loved this beach because it had lots of rocks. So beautiful

Perfect... a pleasant place where nature has done a beautiful job... the sea and the Ribeira together, in front of the pools made by the man and next to the Ribeira a snack bar with relaxing music.... The Ribeira is deep and has some stairs for those who want to jump in the water 馃槉

It is a tourist reference point, passage for walkers, as it is part of the Caminhos Reais trails. With the reconstruction of an old stone house. A place of many visits by the regional population, for its natural beauty, the proximity to the sea and the diversity of nature that can be observed. Along these ruins, there is a route to the old pier

It has a bar/restaurant with a great pool. Small natural beach, good too, but the sea is not advisable because it has a lot of current

The ruins of Sao Jorge are very close to the pebble beach of Sao Jorge. These ruins belong to the ancients. usually the ruins all belong to the ancients, don't they? 馃槄 They belong to the old sugar cane mills that were built there at the beginning of the population of the island of Madeira.

I really wanted to go see the S茫o Jorge pebble because I had already been told so much about it, it really is very beautiful. In the pebbles of S茫o Jorge we find the primitive core of that parish. Of the old constructions, the stone entrance portico is one of the most significant. This entire space has been classified as a monument of municipal interest since 2003.

This trail is about 8 km long. It is considered a challenging trail, it takes an average of 3 hours and 40 minutes. The trail is open all year round and can be visited whenever you like.

I do not recommend this trail to people afraid of heights. The route has coastal paths where there are many points of interest, natural viewpoints, the Calhau de S茫o Jorge lagoon and more things that I have come to show you in another post.

In the bathing season, Praia do Calhau de Sao Jorge has a bathing complex with 3 pixinas, which is great for those with children. I didn't go to the pool because my interest was to get to know the maximum of Madeira and I have to tell you that it is the island that I like the most so far.

Despite having a beach with sea, the sea on this beach is not recommended at all due to the currents

I highly recommend visiting the ruins of S茫o Jorge. Has anyone been here? if so i want to know your feedback

I hope you liked it, see you soon friends 馃槉
