Christmas in Águeda - Portugal

Hello everyone, I hope you're all well 🙂 Every year, I ask myself to visit Águeda during the Christmas season, and for me, it is without a doubt the most beautiful Christmas in Portugal. The city, which is just an hour away from my house, turns into a true wonder at this time of year. The illuminated streets, charming decorations and festive atmosphere make Águeda an unmissable destination for anyone who wants to experience the magic of Christmas. From the "Aldeia Natal", with its little wooden houses, to the impressive lights that cover the city

As I walked through the streets of Águeda, I couldn't help but be enchanted by the huge bear that adorns the city at this time of year. This bear, which functions as a giant photo frame, is one of the biggest symbols of Christmas in Águeda. With its twinkling lights and welcoming expression, it invites everyone to stop and take a photo to keep as a souvenir. I saw offers from people, of all ages, smiling as they posed next to him, creating moments of happiness that were recorded forever. Their presence makes the experience even more magical, as if we were taking part in a Christmas story, where each photo is a memory that pedals the magic of the place.

Águeda is also known for the city of umbrellas, so right in the city center there was this incredible scene. They placed several umbrellas around the downtown buildings and they looked really cool. People stopped to appreciate that magnificent art.

Umbrellas come in different colors, yellow, green, red, blue. Both children, adults and the elderly are amazed

While walking through the streets we came across a Santa Claus singing Christmas carols. I thought it was incredible, here in Portugal unfortunately they don't give much value to this type of art but I value it a lot and of course I gave some money and congratulated him on the incredible work he does. His work is very important, because people are happy to hear it. At least I speak for myself ☺️

In the hotel where we were staying, which I'll talk about in a following post, the staff was really friendly and even gave us a small map of Águeda, where they showed us what each street had, it was really useful.

The main street is Rua dos Umbrellas, the street was beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. The main street was where Santa Claus was, on that street there are many cafes, souvenir shops and some clothing stores.

All over the streets there are super cute lamps, which make the photos stand out even more. Águeda is a place that cannot be missed at Christmas. I think I even made a post last year talking about Águeda at Christmas and we can see that every year is different, every year surprises us with new things

This year they placed a street with Santa hats, in other years they didn't have hats. The only street that never changes is the street of umbrellas because the umbrellas are the image of Águeda. I highly recommend that if you visit Portugal, visit Águeda. It's really incredible

Olá a todos, espero que estejam todos bem 🙂 Todos os anos peço-me para visitar Águeda na época do Natal e, para mim, é sem dúvida o Natal mais bonito de Portugal. A cidade, que fica a apenas uma hora da minha casa, torna-se uma verdadeira maravilha nesta época do ano. As ruas iluminadas, as decorações encantadoras e o ambiente festivo fazem de Águeda um destino imperdível para quem quer vivenciar a magia do Natal. Da Aldeia Natal, com as suas casinhas de madeira, às impressionantes luzes que cobrem a cidade

Ao passear pelas ruas de Águeda não pude deixar de me encantar pelo enorme urso que enfeita a cidade nesta altura do ano. Este urso, que funciona como uma moldura gigante, é um dos maiores símbolos do Natal em Águeda. Com suas luzes cintilantes e expressão acolhedora, convida todos a parar e tirar uma foto para guardar como lembrança. Vi ofertas de pessoas, de todas as idades, sorrindo ao posarem ao lado dele, criando momentos de felicidade que ficaram registrados para sempre. A presença deles torna a experiência ainda mais mágica, como se estivéssemos participando de uma história de Natal, onde cada foto é uma lembrança que pedala a magia do lugar.

Também vi uma casinha onde as pessoas paravam para tirar fotos. O Natal parece deixar as pessoas mais felizes e relaxadas. Natal é amor

Águeda também é conhecida pela cidade dos guarda-chuvas, por isso mesmo no centro da cidade houve este cenário incrível. Eles colocaram vários guarda-chuvas em volta dos prédios do centro da cidade e ficaram muito legais. As pessoas pararam para apreciar aquela arte magnífica.

Os guarda-chuvas vêm em cores diferentes, amarelo, verde, vermelho, azul. Crianças, adultos e idosos ficam maravilhados

Enquanto andávamos pelas ruas nos deparamos com um Papai Noel cantando canções de Natal. Achei incrível, aqui em Portugal infelizmente não dão muito valor a este tipo de arte mas eu valorizo muito e claro dei algum dinheiro e dei-lhe os parabéns pelo trabalho incrível que faz. O trabalho dele é muito importante, porque as pessoas ficam felizes em ouvi-lo. Pelo menos falo por mim ☺️

No hotel onde estávamos hospedados, do qual falarei num próximo post, o pessoal foi muito simpático e até nos deu um pequeno mapa de Águeda, onde nos mostraram o que cada rua tinha, foi muito útil.

A rua principal é a Rua dos Guarda-chuvas, a rua era linda, linda, linda. A rua principal era onde estava o Papai Noel, nessa rua há muitos cafés, lojas de souvenirs e algumas lojas de roupas.

Por todas as ruas há luminárias super fofas, que dão ainda mais destaque às fotos. Águeda é um local que não pode faltar no Natal. Acho que até fiz um post ano passado falando de Águeda no Natal e podemos ver que cada ano é diferente, cada ano nos surpreende com coisas novas

Este ano colocaram uma rua com chapéus de Papai Noel, em outros anos não tinham chapéus. A única rua que nunca muda é a rua dos guarda-chuvas porque os guarda-chuvas são a imagem de Águeda. Recomendo vivamente que se visitar Portugal, visite Águeda. É realmente incrível
