Today I was reminded of a story that I am sure we are all familiar with. This story was about a farmer and his wife who had a goose that began to lay a golden egg every day. The farmer and his wife decided that this particular goose must have a very large amount of gold inside and so as to get at all of the gold at once they killed the goose. To their surprise this particular goose was just like all of the other geese on the inside and there was no gold. In their attempt to get rich quickly this foolish farmer and his wife killed the goose that was giving them a golden egg on a daily basis. It reminds me of the old saying of "kill not the goose that lays the golden egg." My reason for retelling this fable is to remind one not to bite the neck of the goose too hard so that it dies and quits laying the golden eggs.
