Lady Masako and Jin tracked headman Sadao through his captured wife, Hina. After Jin attempted a gentle interrogation, Hina was tragically murdered by assassins. We followed the footprints of the killer through the Golden Forest to Kuta Farmstead, discovering that Sadao's brother, Hachi, killed her. Hachi died, leaving a vital map behind.
Masako waited at the estate to initiate the new quest. She explained that Sadao's wife wept continuously during questioning. I then stepped inside the room to speak with her, where Jin successfully convincing her to cooperate, though she requested additional time to recall the exact location of her husband.
I exited the room and walked alongside Masako. Jin provided a detailed report regarding the conversation with Sadao's wife while Masako listened intently to the updates, and they Masako started talking back.
We followed Masako to a scenic overlook where her grandchildren used to compose songs with her, and they used to watch season changes from there as well. I played the flute at this peaceful site to help soothe Masako's troubled mind.
After a brief period of quiet, a blood-curdling scream from Hina echoed through the air. We rushed back toward the house immediately and discovered that the entrance door was completely shattered.
We stepped inside the house and discovered the lady was already dead. Masako insisted that the killer had to be found, prompting us to investigate the immediate surroundings for any clues.
We moved outside and located a trail of footprints left behind by the killer. We pursued the tracks through the vibrant Golden Forest, during which Jin accused Masako of causing the death by using the woman as bait.
The footprints led directly to a place where Mongol soldiers had already captured the assassin. We engaged the enemy forces to clear the area before we could question the captive.
We eliminated all of the Mongol soldiers in the area. We discovered the assassin was Hachi, the brother of Sadao, who admitted to killing Hina to protect his brother before he succumbed to his injuries.
Masako expressed deep sorrow over the loss of another lead, comparing Hina's fate to the murder of her own family. I searched the area and discovered a map belonging to Hachi that detailed various supply routes.
Masako reviewed the map and suggested that Sadao might be hiding at one of the marked locations. She instructed me to take the map to a monk at the nearest camp, promising to reunite later.
