Spotting an incoming Mongol patrol, I chose to engage them in a standoff rather than bypass them. Using my upgraded Standoff Streak ability, I quickly executed three enemies in succession. Being terrified, the remaining three Mongols attacked, but I dodged their strikes and eliminated them all in a matter of time.
I suddenly noticed a Mongol patrol heading down the road toward my position. Though I could have easily ignored them since my destination lay in the opposite direction, I did not feel like letting them pass.
I decided to initiate a standoff instead. A heavy shield bearer stepped forward to face me, and I brought him down instantly. Having unlocked the Standoff Streak ability, additional enemies immediately rushed me after my initial victory.
The skill allowed me to wait for each charging foe to swing their weapon before landing a lethal counterstrike, giving me the opportunity to chain multiple standoff kills together.
I took down two more Mongols in rapid succession, using the maximum level of my Standoff Streak to eliminate three patrol members in seconds.
The remaining three Mongols were visibly terrified after witnessing the sudden slaughter of their comrades, but they built up the courage to step forward and fight.
I began taking them down one by one, enjoying the flow of combat. A spearman charged toward me, and I engaged him directly while noticing the final Mongol standing back at a distance, simply watching the fight unfold.
I initially assumed the last warrior would turn and flee, but he chose to close in for a final duel instead. I intentionally gave him a few opportunities to attack, dodging most of his strikes, though a couple of his blows managed to connect.
Deciding I played around enough, I launched a heavy counterattack and brought him down in seconds.
