Hello Silver Gold Stackers of Hive!

It has been a hot minute since posting. In fact, this is @myprecious's first Hive post!

Hello!!!!!

Last time we caught up Hive was just about to fork away from Steem. Here we are THREE months later... knee deep in a pandemic, hurdling towards recession and in some parts grappling with social unrest. Lucky us, we still have silver, gold and our community to get us through.

Administrative "Stuff"

After leaving Steem it became necessary to rebrand our group. Being Steem Silver Gold on Hive felt a little silly. After some back and forth in our group's discord, it was decided to rebrand to the name Silver Gold Stackers. This way we can be Silver Gold Stackers of Hive. We can be Silver Gold Stackers of Steem. We could even be Silver Gold Stackers of Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Trybe, Weku, Narrative. Keeping the name a bit generic helps if we are ever in a position to move platforms again.

You will notice this @myprecious account is now named #SilverGoldStackers. Our community pages on both Hive and Steem are renamed Silver Gold Stackers. People have also been using the tag #silvergoldstackers on posts related to silver and gold. To replace the #ssglife tag (this tag was used on member blogs about interests outside of precious metals collecting), I would suggest using the tag #sgslife.

@bearone is a long time member, talented artist, Aussie and mama to an (almost) brand new baby girl. She designed the original Steem Round as well as the banners used by many communities on Hive and Steem. Thank you @bearone for helping us sparkle on Hive. :)

Maintaining a Presence on Steem

At this point several members are posting on both Hive and Steem. Some people "shit post" on Steem for the rewards. Some folks share the same posts to both Hive and Steem. Others may not have made the switch to Hive. So far (thanks to the outstanding efforts of @welshstacker) community support (in the form of upvotes from @ssg-community) has continued on Steem. As the tools available to maintain this support change, our level of support to Steem may also change.

Membership

The last update to the membership list on Steem was March 19th, 2020. No new members will be be added to the group from Steem. All Steem Silver Gold members on the date of the hardfork to Hive automatically became members of Silver Gold Stackers on Hive. New nominations are being accepted from Hive users only and the membership list will be updated and maintained strictly from Hive going forward.

(Unless of course Hive craps itself like Steem and we all jump ship to another platform, or even back to Steem, at a later date.)

Becoming a Member

As you can see, this graphic needs to be updated. However, the path to membership on Hive remains the same as on Steem.

1. Post about and be interested in collecting precious metals (silver/gold).
2. Find current members via our tags, our community page and our discord. Get to know us and we will get to know you.
3. Get nominated to the community by a current member.
4. Receive a second from another community member.
5. Membership nominations are reviewed and either approved or denied by the community mods. (Current mods as of June 2, 2020 are @dfinney and @raybrockman.)
6. Reap the rewards of community support and friendship.

If, as a current member, you are interested in nominating new members, please make sure nominees have a track record of posting about metals and of building relationships with community members (ie. consistent posting with a track record of posting about silver and/or gold, replying to comments on their posts , commenting on posts of other community members). The friendships we form will be what sustains our group over time.

PS - If you were once a member and do not see your name on our member list, you were likely taken off of the rolls due to lack of posts or comments in 6 months. If you have returned, please let us know. We are happy to have you back.

Since moving to Hive we have gained one new member. Please welcome @madddogmike to the community. Nomination posts are maintained on @vgholdingllc's account. He generally posts these on Sunday evenings USA Eastern time.
