Since the last post from Hive account@buggedout about the future of his service, I have been thinking with some members about alternatives to keep an option for both investment and curation for our community. This new service wouldn't replace our beloved Mermeid, but would instead serve as a temporary substitute until Hive becomes great again and the technical challenges surrounding the VPS are resolved. So for now, Hive account@gwajnberg is helping to keep things moving by establishing this new service, which will be more similar to the regular community services that we find on Hive.
The account Hive account@sgs-community that I just created will receive delegations and provide 95% of curation rewards back to delegators. That number can be adjusted, but I guess for now we can leave it like that. In addition, we have this account Hive account@bullionvault that will follow the main account curation, so it can grow organic HP and can be an additional account for votes. On top of that, this account will be the one used for communication, and members will be able to be ghost authors if they want to get some author rewards as a beneficiary.
This project won't bring any return to me; there isn't any fee to maintain the machinery behind it, since I would try to invest as minimally as possible. Maybe the biggest investment on my end would be the liquid hive available in the account, which I expected to be repaid with the 5% left from the curation reward from the account. Once it is paid, it will stop repaying me. The curation will happen to any user who posts under the SilverGoldStackers community about Silver, Gold, and precious metals in general. However, there will be one exception:
Verified members (those in the list above) can post in other communities and continue using #silvergoldstackers tag if they post about Silver, Gold, or precious metals.
Delegation is rewarded through the weekly curation reward distribution. Post curation remains discretionary and based on content quality. Delegation doesn't guarantee any vote.
By the way, verified members already get +10% automatically.
So here is a recap of the curation rules for eligibility:
One daily curation (you can get just one vote between 00:01 UTC and 24:00 UTC) for each user who posts in the Silver Gold Stackers community about precious metals INDEPENDENT IF THEY DELEGATE OR NOT .
Verified members who delegate HP can post in other communities using the #silvergoldstackers tag, but the post still needs to be about Precious metals.
All posts will also be under quality check. Avoiding plagiarism.
AI-generated images okay if cited as such.
AI-generated content must be quoted and not exceed 50% of the post; the other 50%+ must be human-written commentary on that quoted text.
and AI abuse (AI can be used, but avoid abusing it). We want original posts.
All users blacklisted by Hive Watchers will be skipped until their problem is solved.
And now for the delegation rewards:
Users will receive 95% of the weekly rewards back related to their contribution. So, a user who delegates 1000 HP, and the APR is around 8% for curation and the math brings that the rewards related to this service are 1.53 HIVE in that week, the user will receive 1.45 HIVE that week.
The payment will start after 2 weeks of initiating the delegation (Remember that Hive account@sgs-community will start receiving rewards only 1 week after the delegation starts). Payments will happen every Friday.
Initially, 5% of the rest will be used to repay the initial loan by Hive account@gwajnberg to the account to pay rewards. After the repayment is made, it will be used to grow the HP account.
A weekly report will be published showing total delegated Hive Power, curation rewards earned, distributions paid to delegators, and the account's current Hive Power.
Payment:
Payments are every Friday, and due to logistics, the first payment comes 2 Fridays after starting delegating, but there is a retroactive payment in the first payment.
Well, that's it for now. Any suggestions? Just hit the comment button below.
P.S. Some community members already gave me feedback about the rules, but they are still open to change it. I have been talking with Hive account@buggedout, Hive account@dfinney, and a few others. By the way, thanks to Hive account@thekittygirl for some help with the wording.
