I was a child, the world was
before me,
It will take forever to grow old
Teens are great
when you can date
but your Dad
will not let you stay late
21, the world is mine
I can now drink wine.
Go where I wish
but also have to
wash my dish.
30s are just a whirl
but there is no doubt
I have always been a good girl
40s hair is starting to gray
another wrinkle with each day
eyes are bad, my back hurts,
but I hang in there like a Turk.
50s I still feel good
even with my disability
my body hurts, but I carry on
no, I do not wear a thong.
I once was young, time stood still
fifty was over the hill
60s are here, I feel my age
I am not happy, I even feel rage
70 only three years away
This old body has had to pay
I once had an ability
but it turned into a disability
when I thought I could do it
nothing happened, so screw it.
