Losing ourselves to anger happens to all for some point in life. It's okay as long as we don't make it a habit. And as long as we don't learn from our anger, we may fail every time to manage it properly. As a human being, it's not possible to stay away from anger.
I think we should have this emotion as it helps us to release our level of stress. But there's no need to say that managing it properly is very necessary.
How can we do that?
I believe, we first need to understand the difference between 'react' and 'response'. If we can differntiate we can decide what to do in some specific situation.
We don't have to react every time rather we can choose to respond to the person or the event to manage our anger properly. Sure, the reaction is necessary but we must learn how to do that properly as it depends on our situations and surroundings.
For me, I try to sit down when I get angry. And then I try to not talk at all for a few moments to let go of the highest point of my emotions.
After a few moments if you feel okay to react or respond, go for it. Later, think about the whole event, point out what was wrong, is your behavior was right, what you should do, what you didn't and how to improve your reaction or response.
This process actually helps a lot to manage the whole thing and have a good grip over our anger.
Also, shifting our brain towards more mindful activities like meditation, breathing practice, a healthy lifestyle can help passively to have control over our emotions.
Thus we can help us to expose our emotions properly. We have to open up to thyself to understand what's making us angry, why we are reacting that way and how can we do better.
I hope it helps a little bit!
