There are a couple of things in this life that really make me excited, anything with Oreos and chocolate, oh how I love chocolate. Combine the two and you have these amazing Oreo Pops!
If you follow me, you know that I am a huge fan of All Things Chocolate. And now it is time to add these Oreo pops to the list. They are so awesome and make perfect gifts, or treats for game days, birthday parties, etc. And of course, I won’t tell if you make them all for yourself. I mean I usually eat a bunch before giving them away.
Also, I really like how versatile they are. You can make so many different variations and designs, just like homemade cake pops. If you are looking for a super easy treat to make, this Oreo Pops recipe is it. If I can do it, you can do it. Let’s get started!
Ingredients
- 24 Oreos I recommend using the MegaStuff Oreos if you can find them
- 2 cups chocolate white, dark, semi-sweet, etc. Candy melts, CandiQuick, Almond Bark candy coating
- 1 tbsp oil vegetable, canola, shortening, if needed
- Sprinkles optional
- Chopped nuts optional
- Coconut flakes optional
Instructions
Melt the chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl in the microwave with bursts of 30 seconds and stir, then repeat until melted. Or use the double-boiler method on the stovetop, mentioned in the blog post.
Dip a treat stick in the chocolate about 1/2 inch and then slide it gently into an Oreo. Hold the cookie together.
Place the Oreos with sticks in them on a sheet pan line with parchment paper or a silicone mat, once they are all dipped, put them in the fridge for about 15 minutes.
Now dip them in the chocolate. Allow the excess chocolate to drip off. Then place it back on the sheet pan or in a piece of styrofoam with holes. You can also now dip them in nuts, coconut flakes, or add sprinkles.
Set them in the fridge once again, so the chocolate/candy coating can firm up, about 20 to 30 minutes.
They are done! You can also drizzle on different colors of chocolate if you like. Remove them from the fridge, add some melted chocolate to a pastry bag or sandwich bag, snip the corner, then do the drizzles. Make sure to place them back in the fridge so the drizzles can set. Enjoy! Serve them cold or allow them to come to room temp first.
