It's a muddy hill.
Not too steep. I can walk up it easily enough. One or two stops to catch my breath. Also helping, loud heavy metal music on my headphones and knowing that I have a flask full of coffee.
I also know that that coffee will be enjoyed with a view over the city.
It's a chance to catch some peace.
And there it was. The top at last. Coffee.
I think I need this today, of all days. Somebody is being a pain in the backside. I'll need to deal with it, but not this moment. Now, I need my moment of calm.
A chance to think.
After a short rest, I'll walk along some more. Wherever the wind wants to take me.
Through the corn field.
Through the open plain.
When the sun is shining, you feel it's warmth, even in the winter.
Eventually, I'll walk back down. That's ok though, because when I reach the bottom there will be a valley to walk through.
With a stream and other walkers. Some with dogs and some with children. It is hard to believe that I live in a big city. This is a different world.
I love this place.
