Final completion of a sienna dashboard

How are you all doing today, I hope you all are doing amazing. I am happy to share the completion of this project, all about the changing the leather of sienna .

Here is the finish work

I posted about this very project yesterday, it was bring to me by a friend to my customer. I suppose to do this work on Wednesday but he please me to try do for him because the car has being bought and the other want to travel with it today. Because of that i have to suspend everything i was doing today to make sure i delivered the work for him.

I really feel happy that i was able to make him happy by delivering the work for him and he was very happy because the work was to his test and he promised to bring work for me.

Let look at how i get this work done

This is not the first time i post about how i renew a car dashboard therefore i will be brief about the post.

Firstly i make sure i remove the old leather on the board completely so that i can replace the new one.

I used a small knife to pill the old leather, i try my best to make sure i don't destroy the board when pilling the old leather and here is the complete removal of the old leather from the board.

Here is the leather i am using for the board.

I will have just apply gum on the board and the new leather and then gum them together but it will ungum its self because the surface is to smooth so because of the i have to sand the board and make the surface rough.

If you look at it you will see a very big difference after sanding the board.

I also choose to sew the dashboard although the carry come is plane but the is beauty in sewing it and here is how the design will look like.

Finally, i apply gum on the board and the new leather. I make sure i set it well so that each point will enter has i was shaping. This is where all the work be because this will determine the finished work.

I allowed the gum to stay for like 5 minutes after that, i then gum them together to have the final results.

How do you guys see the final work, hope it look amazing? I suppose to take a photo of it after fixing it inside car but the time my electrician came to fix it, it was night already and i was enable to snap it. But the finish work look amazing.
