As a part of my experiments, I decided to decorate my planners with polymer clay. The idea came in when I saw figures made out of quilling papers used as dashboard and I was like, why not polymer clay?
So here is my first attempt with that.
I started with a baking paper. It would have been better with a tile but as I have said, I am just experimenting. I need to improvise with whatever I have.
I wanted to follow the trends of sketches I have been seeing online with wome's silhouettes, side or back views.
A part of her dress. I was thinking of making just a long dress.
How I made the skirt.
And this is the part where I made the hair. I used my clay extruder to make this.
I dont know why I wanted a ponytailed hair but, that's what I see in my mind. so I started filling it up like this.
Then all of a sudden, I wanted an accent for the dress. I went with pink.
Then carried on with the hair.
I thought the hair alone is too plain. I initially added a pink hair tie.
Then flowers. And then, I decided to experiment with my gelpen.
Baked it and came up with something that looks like this. Yes, those bars on the middle- they were burnt marks. But who cares? It looks like an accent to me now.
The complete look after sealing it with nail polish. I glued it on the page with any glue that you have. I would have gone on with gorilla glue but, I'm out of stock. I used the next best thing- just plain old school glue!
Here are the other ones I made.
I especially love this.
Now it would have been a simple thing for me to do but because I underestimated the time it took me to make this from scratch- from the actual crafting, baking, cooling, gluing and putting on the final touches, it took me another 1 day before I can post them.
