Walk through downtown on Pentecost [ENG/ESP]

Today I’m going to tell you a little about a walk I took from where public transportation drops me off on Vargas Avenue toward downtown, where San José Church is located. It’s very famous for being right in the heart of the city and is frequently visited by people coming from different areas around the city to shop for groceries and food. and while passing through here, they take the opportunity to visit this Redemptorist church. It is located across from the Cosmo shopping center.
I arrived at the church after walking a few blocks, tired and quite early at three in the afternoon; the vigil was at five. The church was still closed. It’s surrounded on all sides by a very pretty plaza with benches where people sit to rest or couples meet up, and it’s always bustling. I arrived, sat down, and began to gaze at the sky—it was a beautiful, cloudless blue. Then I got up, walked around the plaza while they opened the church, and took several photos of a flock of very cute pigeons that visit the plaza. I also noticed that the kiosks had been repainted in very eye-catching colors.
On that Pentecost Sunday, I wanted to ride in the family car, but we were running low on gas; we only had enough to get to the gas station. San José Church is a bit far—about a 15-minute drive—so I decided to take a taxi or the bus to get to my destination, which was the church, to participate in the vigil, which was beautiful.
In the plaza right in front of the temple, there is a beautiful monstrance. I usually arrive at the temple in a hurry, so I hadn’t had time to appreciate how beautiful and clean the plaza is, and that there are several kiosks selling everything from snacks to packaged meals. I also went to browse some stores in the mall to kill time until 4:15 p.m., the scheduled opening time.
I took that same route back with my husband and a group of parishioners who were also going to take the bus home.

Caminata por el centro de la ciudad el día de pentecostés

Hoy les voy a hablar un poco sobre una caminata que hice desde el sitio donde me deja el transporte publico que es en la avenida Vargas hacia el centro de la ciudad, donde se encuentra la iglesia San José, muy famosa por encontrarse en pleno corazón de la ciudad, siendo esta muy visitada por aquellas personas que vienen de diferentes lugares aledaños a la ciudad, para realizar sus compras tanto de víveres como de alimentos, al pasar por acá aprovechan de visitar esta iglesia redentorista. esta situada al frente del centro comercial cosmo.
Llegue a la iglesia después de caminar unas cuantas cuadras, cansada y bastante temprano a las tres de la tarde, la vigilia era a las cinco de la tarde; la iglesia todavía estaba cerrada. Esta rodeada por una plaza muy linda en todo su alrededor con sus bancos, donde la gente se sienta para descansar o los novios se dan cita aquí, la cual es muy concurrida. Yo llegue me senté y me puse a contemplar el cielo, presentaba un lindo cielo azul libre de nubes, luego me levante, recorrí la plaza mientras abrían el templo, capturar varias fotos a una cantidad de palomas muy lindas que visitan la plaza. también observe que los kioscos los habían retocado con pintura muy llamativa.
Ese día de pentecostés quería subir en el vehículo de la familia pero había problemas de combustibles, nosotros solo teníamos para ir hasta la estación de servicio. La iglesia San José queda un poco lejos a unos 15 minutos en vehículo propio, por lo que preferí salir a tomar el taxis o autobús y llegar a mi destino que era la iglesia, para participar de la vigilia, la cual estuvo hermosa.
En la plaza justo al frente del templo hay una custodia hermosa, por lo general siempre llego al templo apurada, no había tenido el tiempo para poder contemplar lo hermosa y limpia que esta la plaza y de que hay varios kioscos, donde venden diferentes snack hasta comida en envases venden. también fui a recorrer algunas tiendas del centro comercial para dar tiempo de que fuesen las 4 y 15 minutos hora pautada para abrir el mismo.
Ese mismo recorrido lo tuve de regreso con mi esposo y un grupo de feligreses que también iban a tomar el carro para regresar a casa.
