Mortician

An original poem by Jordan Moon (moonie@moonie)

There is a mortician in town that gets up everyday,
he knows he has to wash dead bodies in order to earn his pay.
He is a misunderstood guy,
who helps people say goodbye.
His job is his whole entire lifestyle
he doesn’t enjoy it even for a little while
He is constantly around people who have no life
And their families who are dealing with strife
He tries his hardest to please
And put family and friends at ease
But people don’t understand this about him
They just think he is really dim
He isn’t rich or poor
but he couldn’t ask for anymore
He dresses up in a suit and tie
He is a very good looking guy
Out of respect he will never smile
When he’s in the funeral house, standing on black tile
This man is very strong
Especially in the heart, where he can do no wrong
It’s too bad people judge him for what he does
Because of such a nice guy he was

Keep steaming on!
