Everyday last week, I ate the same breakfast.
My favorite breakfast EVER, and the national fish of Jamaica, Ackee and Salt-fish!!
I know, I know, it looks like scrambled eggs... but it’s not! And it tastes about a bajillion times better.
Ackee is a fruit, poisonous when raw, that grows primarily in the Saint Elizabeth region of Jamaica.
It’s traditionally cooked with salt-fish and served with dough-nut like dumplings called “Johnny Cakes”
we had it with salt fish, onions, peppers, Johnny cakes, callaloo, fresh fruit, and fried sweet plantains
It was delicious !!
Oh and fresh-squeezed orange juice, too ❤️
