@damarysvibra's initiative, How Do You Value Your Patience?, once again led me to a personal reflection on my almost three years in Spain and the fact that a four-week vacation is now reaching three years and that, obviously, became much more than a short and well enjoyed vacation. In them, Patience was added to Flexibility, in an intimate complicity that allowed me to survive the pandemic and keep waiting.
My post today will deal with this stage and the essential patience during it, dear hivers, dear Holo&Lotus community.
The holidays of 2019 were the opportunity to hug my oldest son in person (after years of being separated for the first time) and to say goodbye to my youngest son; in both cases as a result of the Venezuelan diaspora, but I did not think that it would also be an opportunity to separate from my partner for a long time, although in my thoughts the option of investigating treatment opportunities for my little health problems hovered. But as the occasion is painted bald and my family is adorable, with the suitcases packed to return to Venezuela, I saw myself embracing the opportunity to stay a little longer in Spain and take care of my health here.
In this way, consequently, I said goodbye to my husband until December and began the medical check-ups aimed mainly at resolving a possible thyroid surgery, whose procedures I had unsuccessfully initiated in Venezuela, since at that time there was no existence of the necessary drugs for my congenital condition of deficient blood coagulation. My patience was present, during more than six months of visits to hospital centers and laboratories, in search of one who would carry out the thyroid profile and who, in addition, would be accessible to our economic possibilities. The proverbial holy patience of Venezuelans.
Very wisely,@damarysvibra tells us, "while you wait, live". The continued waiting can affect the spiritual strength and create a tendency to immobility, a kind of "I wait here, without moving"; but on the contrary, you have to move twice as much, to keep up with the rhythm of life and to keep waiting actively. That is, keep pursuing the goal without fainting. If a door closes, touch another or a window, lol. But without remaining in the motionless stillness of those who wait without hope.
For me too, life continued and it did so with the unexpected turn imposed by the pandemic, confinement and suspension of hospital activities outside the stamps of Covid19 or emergencies ; in addition, of the limitations to move from one place to another and more, from one country to another. I stayed in Spain, with my health to resolve. My husband, in Venezuela, without being able to travel to Spain. His passport expired, then mine. Patience had to work to keep our spirits up, not to fall into despair, to resume each new activity that became necessary for the simple fact of meeting again. At such times, not so simple. Meanwhile, I was always aware of my health and attending to all medical recommendations.
We have to thank the internet and in a very special way #Hive and #Whatsap, the great support they provided throughout the planet earth. #Hive with your paid activities, through rewards and the option to share with people from different countries. #whatsapp with video calls and video conferences, allowed to see faces and smiles from a distance. For my family and myself, Hive and WhatsApp were life-saving boards for family bonding and emotional stability.Today I celebrate with joy that almost a month ago I had surgery, my husband accompanied me during hospitalization and my children are always in contact with me. I'm just getting back to normal. My normality of daily walks, staying active on the blockchain, taking control of my health and reactivating my much-loved orientation and/or therapy work. I thank God for my endowment of patience, the time to receive what was expected and the great opportunity to share the expected results with the people who supported my patience with their words of encouragement and their own patience.
A message for the impatient: Patience can be developed with little routine exercises. It's elastic and it's always a good idea to keep it in tune, lol
