The first sentence in the description section of the Wednesday Walk community states:
Try and get out once a week for a short walk, can be from your office, home or anywhere really and walk for a few blocks or a few minutes looking for things to get shots of.
A few minutes...that is where my eyes shined, as it was indeed just a few minutes of walk around my "office" that I took last Sunday. And today I did the same. My "office" was the hotel I play the piano those two days. After some 45 or 50 minutes of playing, I usually take a break, drink a glass of juice, or coffee or take something to eat from the free buffet. Also, if I am in the mood, I take a super short walk to the promenade, which is just a few seconds (not even minutes) away from the hotel.
The sun still shines in this part of the world, with intensity though I do notice that it is easier now to be exposed to the sun than during the summer. There are still people enjoying the beach, sunbathing and even swimming, and also those who just decide to jog by the seashore. I didn't join them, I was not in an adequate outfit for outdoors activities, and anyway, my migraine was killing me this morning. It started on Saturday morning, it was still not that strong and I had hours when I felt very good and hours when it was really hard. Today was one of those harder days, however, I couldn't just cancel the gig.
Anyways, it is a condition that you have to learn to live with. There is no real cure and no real help or pills that make magic. There are periods when the episodes are less frequent and not strong, but these days were challenging. I am a lot better right now, as I was also yesterday evening, but we never know how tomorrow morning will show itself. Hope better than today's one.
But back to business :D
The walk, that is a few minutes away from my office. So, when I walked out on Sunday to take my break, I noticed this place, called Mamma Nostra. A terrace part of the restaurant, which was closed (as I am there in the mornings).
What I liked are those straw chandeliers and the cover of the terrace. The roof part, that allows the light to enter, but also gives a nice shade. The gusts have a nice view towards the sea while listening to the waves of the same. When the wind is strong, you can even smell the salt from the sea.
On the other side, there is already my workplace, That building with a lot of glass windows, do you see it in the next photo? So, that is my place. From here I walked for this Wednesday walk. I know, a really tiny and really short walk, but that is what my pause between playing the piano gave me.
Also, just next to Mamma Nostra, there was another restaurant too. Actually a chiringuito. It is a Spanish type of bar or restaurant, which is originally designed to be on the beach, during the summer. In winter, they should disassemble it and save it somewhere else. Next spring or summer, the chiringuito should be set again, in the same place by the sea.
A creative way to name it... El Chiringuito 😂
Loved the logo this place had, a toucan.
However, this was not all from these two restaurants that I saw. the edges of the terrace platform of Mamma Nostra had so many pots with plants. Succulent, more precisely. They are the best plants one can choose to have around as they are easy to maintain. It is hard to kill them (but, some of us are already experienced plant killers here :D ) and this climate is what they like. They don't need a lot of water, so another plus for the owners of the restaurant, they don't have to think a lot about watering. The only problem would be if they overwater them.
So many different types decorated these planters, but I behaved well. I took just one small leaf of this one, from the following photo, as I wanted to root it and plant it. But, I forgot to take it out of my bag (took it on Sunday) and it withered. It was an unsuccessful realisation of a plan.
In any case, they will be here also the next time I go there. The succulents will not run away, and if I decide to take another cutting, I will try to remember at home to take it out from my bag.
As you see, I didn't walk for hours here. A minute, or less, and I could be back to work - to make people happy with piano sounds. Although I do like the long walks, and exploring new territories, seems that we can stumble upon some interesting sights in short walks too. Like this Mamma Nostra place and the succulents that the owners of it decided to plant all around it. A cute thing.
